2023 Wimbledon Kate. I have to say I do not like flowery dresses at Wimbledon. To me they seem very steeplechase and less like tennis spectator.

This dress is perfection and I hope to see more of a tailored look (or can I dare for sporty and preppy) this year by attendees of the royal box.

and I like this net a porter version even better:

She pulls off this bold green.

Anne looks amazing. I aspire to dress like this at her age.

Here is the new portrait of King Charles. I think it is overly flattering/photoshopped for a portrait.

Have to agree with about the coat dresses in jewel tones on repeat. Other European royal women show a lot more personality.

That's true but it's almost like the Dallas Cheerleaders, right? You get a look and it becomes your brand and you can't change it. Princess Beatrice seems to be "Pink". I do think Kate has shown variation so I don't know what I would peg her besides "Proper".

If I were BRF I would make sure that my brand had some sort of comfort built in early, a la Ivana and her tracksuits, but I'm afraid I would not be very popular with the designers!

The BRF doesn’t need uniforms/brands precisely because they aren’t the Dallas Cheerleaders. Other royal families feel free to mix it up, why can’t the BRF?

Meh, they used flattering lighting, fiddled with soft focus, and probably blurred a wrinkle here or there. All pretty standard and no weird hands or teeth or anything.

The real issue that’s under scrutiny in parts of the British press are those medals he and William wear. They’re mostly for attending things like the Queen’s Jubilee and his own coronation. Other Royal families just wear suits, and maybe the BRF men need to switch over to that too.

The British are deeply proud of their military tradition. I don't see switching out until a generationbor two has passed.

Did Charles actually ever serve in the military?

Yes

Charles served in the Royal Air Force (RAF) and the Royal Navy. During his second year at Cambridge, he received Royal Air Force training, learning to fly the Chipmunk aircraft with the Cambridge University Air Squadron, and was presented with his RAF wings in August 1971.

After the passing-out parade that September, Charles embarked on a naval career and enrolled in a six-week course at the Royal Naval College Dartmouth. He then served from 1971 to 1972 on the guided-missile destroyer HMS Norfolk and the frigates HMS Minerva, from 1972 to 1973, and HMS Jupiter in 1974. That same year, he also qualified as a helicopter pilot at RNAS Yeovilton and subsequently joined 845 Naval Air Squadron, operating from HMS Hermes. Charles spent his last 10 months of active service in the Navy commanding the coastal minehunter HMS Bronington, beginning on 9 February 1976.

That might qualify for a medal or two, and he should wear them. The issue, if you think there is one, is all the medals commemorating events and visits to commonwealth countries.

This is a color few can wear. It does nothing for Kate but I like the cut on her.

They look very 1985.

Sophie Winkleman and Camilla

Why is Camilla always in a white/cream tunic dress? It does nothing for her.

Love the version on Kate much more than the second one. She looks fantastic.

I love the style of Kate's dress, but it's a little too on the nose for me. It's almost the color of a tennis ball!

Oh, good point. Didn't think of that!
