Its a joke. Boyd wont do anything about it.

None of them do anything about anything.

Homeless students also receive free breakfasts and lunches, gift cards for food or meals for weekends & holidays, a new backpack with school supplies, all athletic and school function fees are free, free school spiritwear, holiday gift cards, Metro/bus passes, and more. Sounds like a good gig for the out-of-state football players. I seem to remember something similar last year about the Edison girls Volleyball or Basketball team, but nothing every came of that.

A new article by the Fairfax Times was just published a day or two ago. Turns out more details are coming to light. (re the residency issues, fundraising irregularities, sports recruiting, team mom controversy, etc)

According to the article, it looks like the VHSL itself is investigating.

Edison girls basketball. They fired the coach, Edison people protested, and they rehired the coach.

Sounds like a very good thing for actual homeless kids and I’m glad this federal service exists to help them.

Anyone who is abusing it, or telling kids to abuse to win sports games are absolutely disgusting people.

So not TOO much above the national average of 1050, then

Bringing in all those PWC football players will get that average score down real quick.

There is a racial identity angle here which the school and coaching staff believe will insulate them. As someone who was involved in national level competition, the football culture always disappointed.

Agree, but it's not like HSS lacked minority representation. There's a lot to be miffed about, but what bothers me most is that there are 20+ students, many of whom are either black or brown, who are losing their shot to play ball to a bunch of PWC carpetbaggers. Those kids who live in Hayfield Farms and thereabouts deserve those opportunities through THEIR school.

I am bothered by students losing their chance to play. But I am even more bothered by the fact that football, particularly in the black community, has such an outsize influence. It is terrifically corrupting. And note I was a D1 athlete, with a grandfather who played in the NFL, and I genuinely like sports.

Yes, I have seen the documentary and it reflects the depth of the problem. The administrators at Hayfield high school are operating as if they are immune. They may in fact be

The other Fairfax football coaches have now written to Dr. Reid to express their well founded concerns with Overton and the retaliatory actions of the sleazy Hayfield principal (and Boyd). Would not be surprised if they refuse to field teams against Hayfield if appropriate action is not taken.

Good for them. I know FCPS moves slowly but they need to shut the hayfield program down.
