Hooks such as recruits and legacy are not shown on SCOIR so you actually do not know the athletes gpa. Also SCOIR only shows those accepted and denied does not show if they are attending for sure. |
Also want to add what private in the area has GPA's 4.5 on SCOIR? I can not think of a single one that calculates that way. |
it depends on the school. I've had kids at two different schools. one removes hooked kids (including athletes) from Scoir/Naviance; one does not. |
No one is hating Catholics when criticizing prep for an Instagram post any more than they hate quakers when criticizing Sidwell. Get over yourselves, you’re not victims here |

Prep put out more matriculation announcements today. Congratulations to all the seniors.
For those naysayers who clearly have an irrational grudge against Prep, Columbia and Cornell are in today’s group and I do not believe either are athletes. |
+100 |
| I’d also point out that while Prep’s posts for each graduating senior do not mention their sport, the school’s Insta posts all the info about sports recruits. Just today they had a signing day post. There were additional posts about athlete commits earlier in the year. It’s not like they’re hiding anything. |
Yeah - OP is just being crazy AND clearly doesn't understand the landscape of college insta posting. |

I think we found another Prep mom |
Are there any Quakers at Sidwell? |
+1. Insanity. |
Nope - Big 3 - never applied to Prep. I just think the OP has no clue. |
A few. We only discover who they are in May when they have a special photo for "Quaker graduating seniors" |
Too many people. But in many cases they aren't getting the traction they once did. Allow me to elaborate... On Monday, NCS seniors had t-shirt day where all the girls wear a college t-shirt to the college they have chosen to attend. This is a tradition and it is all celebratory. The girls also take over a part of the walkway/patio outside of Hearst Hall and draw colorful logos of their colleges and sign their names to it. This is for their enjoyment and pride. But of course, someone had to ruin it. A junior mom got photos of the chalk art and created her own list of where seniors are matriculating. She then posted it here on this forum with the header "Thoughts on this list of matriculations?...Top Private". Well, what a great turn of events when responders didn't bite, but instead called the poster out. By the next day, the thread was deleted. BRAVO to Jeff and/or anyone else involved in that decision! It's important to remember that there is a teenager behind every college choice. They really don't need anyone else judging them as they had enough of that from the college admissions officers reviewing their applications. Leave the kids alone! |
