Rec soccer program, with maybe a few parents volunteer to coach(and get rebated their registration), but generally their staff runs the practices.

Those Fredericksburg scores are certainly interesting. I would be surprised if 5 kids showed up to play. The coaches should have just forfeited. Can you imagine driving two hours down there to have no one else from your team show up and then you play a game 11 v 6?

Ever noticed that Arlington teams don't play in SFL / NCSL Rec? wonder why? well they have their own internal league which even has multiple divisions in each age group with boys and girls. Loudon should do the same.

Loudoun DOES do the same. They don't participate in NCSL-rec, nor does Arlington, BECAUSE THEY HAVE ENOUGH TEAMS TO HAVE AN INTERNAL LEAGUE. Some of you are complete morons.

Vienna (VYS) doesn't participate either although they are not nearly as big as Arlington or Loudoun. Not every club is interested in joining SFL/NCSL Rec.

If you have enough teams where kids can just play each other close by and get good competition, you do that. Most rec programs don't have enough teams in every age group for that.

Most people view rec as a casual fun activity. House league are fine for that. If you want some inter-league play then you might get stuck out in Fredicksburg. Who knows whats next? Maybe Gainsville or Rockville. Its a money trap that NCSL is not going to give up.

God you people are morons. *The community rec leagues do not have enough players at the older ages to run in-house leagues*. They might have one or two teams per multiyear age group, eg, only enough 2010 and 2011
Girls for one U14 team. Hence, they need to play other, *nearby* local leagues who also only have 1-2 teams.

We already go to Gainesville, that's where NVSC is and thats fine, no one is complaining about going to Gainesville. The league is supposed to be a northern va suburban league, with SOTH grandfathered in. Not Maryland, not Fredericksburg or Richmond.
