I am all for vaccines, but have not and will not get another Covid booster until it actually prevents illness and transmission.

So you don't get the flu shot either, I presume?

NP. The flu shot is actually really great at preventing transmission.

Plus, I don't get side effects from it. The covid vax will knock me out for 1-2 days, which is absurd. When I finally got covid 3 months ago, I was knocked out for 3 days (despite not having had a shot for 2 years). It's worth it to me to just get actual covid and skip the shots.

The flu shot, like the COVID shot, reduces transmission. It doesn't prevent it. (Reduction is an excellent reason to get either shot, but some people claim it's not worthwhile if transmission isn't prevented.)

That’s when they pick the correct strain(s) to include in the vaccine.

Why do people get so nutty about the covid vaccine? It’s so bizarre.

The covid vaccine is different than every other traditional vaccine. It’s an mRNA genetic vaccine that programs your cells into spike protein factories. There has also recently been DNA found in the covid vaccines. Traditional vaccines use weakened or dead viruses and have long term observation. No long term studies are even possible for this new genetic style treatment so many smart people aren’t getting them especially with their minimal effectiveness issues.

mRNA vaccines have been studied and used for decades.

Where are the double blind studies on long term effects of mRNA vaccines?

Answer… they don’t exist.

What about the nasty ones that turn your cells into factories flooding your bloodstream with spike protein.

Answer … there will never be one. Too scary.

Oh, Jesus.

You are producing spike proteins anyway as part of your immune system response to COVID-19 encountered in your environment, even if you did not get the vaccine. Are you deliberately obtuse? Is this some kind of performance art where you mack anti-vaxxers by pretending to be one, and then spouting off the most stupid takes?

Getting the mRNA and boosting is purposely flooding yourself covid over and over with spike protein.

And if you are vaccinated and contract COVID, then your illness is shorter and milder. That means you produce fewer spike proteins in response.

Do you cling to ignorance, or ... ?

The rest of society did too, with fewer excess deaths due to the help of vaccines.

Stop posting bullshit masquerading as insight.

Biden had more deaths with the vaccine than Trump did without it.

You ... you know that Trump was elected in 2016, and that COVID just appeared in the US in March 2020, right? That it was a pandemic, which means it spread and built over time.

WTAF

lol. The Free Beacon? What a joke. No wonder you think like you do, reading that bullshit.

Seriously. The media they consume for confirmation bias just rots their brains.

Gee, Biden's been president 3 years.

Covid occurred during Trump's last year in office.

Math isn't your strong suit, is it?

PP is trying to answer the question of "Are antivaxxers all just contrarians and conspiracy theorists?" and the answer is "Yes," apparently.

Critical thinking was a key component to refusing an untested emergency vaccine, made with new technology.

The technology has been around for years, originally to try to fight cancer. It’s just never been tested on a large group of healthy people before. I don’t think it takes too much critical thinking to put two and two together on why there was such a big push in using this technology at that particular moment, as opposed to tried and true methods of making vaccines. But pointing out the obvious, makes one a conspiracy theorist these days.

Most of the people I've seen that fit this description have been low education RNs. A couple of MDs with right wing politics and no particular expertise in epidemiology.

Vaxxers are terrified they made a mistake. Understandable. Nobody’s getting the cdc recommended boosters so pretty much everybody is now skeptical. Vaxxers would rather die than mentally deal with the consequences of being wrong. Traditional vaccines are accepted. This mRNA oversold vaccine is highly controversial and mistrusted.

SCARY!!!

But, again, I ingest all kinds of things I have no idea about. Hot dogs, factory farmed meat, soda, water from plastic bottles, emissions from coal plants, whatever the hell is in Coffee Mate french vanilla creamer. I rely on the various regulators and scientists who tell me that these things are mostly safe. I'm not going to pretend to suddenly know better in the case of mRNA vaccines just because Internet randos have decided to frame their function in a way intended to make people uneasy.

^^^ so emotional and passionate!!

Go get your 7th booster.. run along quick before they run out.

Why is it so important to you to argue this point, PP?

You claim nobody is getting the shots anyway. So why are you ranting here about it? You are the one that is overly invested in not being wrong. I mean, to the point of reposting demonstrated falsehoods, weird crazy rants, and linking to batshit conspiracy sites.

Why are you arguing, again?

"Rejecting" is an interesting way to spell "too lazy to bother."

Nope rejected. Flu and covid vaccines were given at work. Got flu vaccine passed on covid. Nothing to do with being lazy.

I actually experienced one of those crazy conspiracy side effects of the pfizer vaccine.

I honestly think the people taking endless boosters and boosting their 5 yearolds are even crazier than a flat earther.

The vast majority of the population got the vaccine willingly and no one is "terrified they made a mistake". You may be terrified - the rest of us aren't. Stop being a manipulative liar and stating things as facts that are not. Just gotta know. Do you believe JFK Jr is still alive and going to lead you all to the light? I wish these maga qanon morons knew that some Russian trolls are laughing at the crap they've gotten you idiots to believe.
