No YOU are the ignorant dope. He was NOT there to "deal with hurricane aftermath" - he was there to show up for a press conference and that's it. It's not even remotely as though he was there to wade through the water to rescue victims and remove debris. He did none of that. He stayed on dry ground. |
| I think it's hysterical that the same people who showed Hunter Biden's penis on the floor of the House are getting all verklempt at Fetterman wearing a hoodie. |
In his defense, it's not that easy or affordable to shop for dress suits when you're 6'8 and built like Shrek. And unlike most of his other Senate counterparts he's not a multimillionaire who can afford closets full of custom tailored famous label suits. |
Yet, the staffers are expected to do just that. |
You are a petty little person. And, that is being generous.

Yep - just like staffers aren't allowed to shout at the members, while the members can shout at the staffers, the rules are different when you work for someone, or when you're the one people work for. Are you suddenly feeling very pro-labor? Let's talk about unions now, if so! |
Let's discuss WHY the staffers and everyone else are required to follow the dress code but Senators are not. Are Senators THAT special that they are exempted while literally everyone else is expected to follow the rules? |
Yes. When you're the elected person, and it's your name on the door, you play by different rules. The Senators probably also don't have to put in for their time off, or ask for permission to leave early, or do any of the other things required of regular employees. They can not answer an email if they feel like it, too. They can tell you that you have to accompany them to some event even though it conflicts with a dinner you've had planned for a month. It's good to be the boss. Welcome to the real world. |
Oh cry me a river. Dude now makes almost $180,000 or whatever. He can afford 2-3 suit jackets, some pants, and some shirts. |
But that's not how he dresses. It's not how he dressed on the campaign trail, when the people of Pennsylvania voted him into office, either. This isn't some bait and switch - this is who he is. |
I don't give a crap how he dressed on the campaign trail. He wasn't an elected official with a JOB on Capitol Hill representing the country. You cannot do whatever you feel like at your job. There are standards for conduct and personal appearance. The fact that Schumer is lowering the standards for clowns like Fettermans is absolutely pathetic. You think Fettermans is the first progressive and champion of the working class man ever elected into office? Oh please. Bernie wears suits. Even super progressives and white knights for the middle class like Estes Kefauver went to work in a suit and not jeans and a flannel shirt. This is a pathetic decline in the standards for civility and personal conduct in the United States. |
I guess Fetterman and Bernie are different people even if they share some values. Weird! This seems a weird place to hang your hat on the decline of civility and personal conduct. See you on the Rep. Boobsallout thread. |
Boobsallout wasn't at work, dimwit. I don't give a crap if senators have sex with donkeys outside of work. I know your rotted out lib brain cannot comprehend the difference between conduct and appearance DURING work in the actual chambers vs conduct off the clock outside of the job. |
