Do not worry! Priyanka has decades of practice in being rich, talented and famous, so she surrounds herself with her family and positive people. Also, Priyanka gets along with her ILs. The fact that you have a good family background means that you are able to become successful in life.

Please. Indian culture could not be further from Western. I’m surprised her parents let her marry non-Indian, but she was way too old by Indian standards so the had to play along.

I once saw a video Priyanka filmed of her surprising her husband with a puppy. It was so sad to watch. She woke him up and was like here is a puppy in your face. His reaction to her was wtf?! But just his reaction to her didn’t give me any good vibes about their marriage.

If my spouse filmed waking me up with a surprise puppy I'd be like wtf too. That's weird.

WTF is up with Joe Jonas posting a pic of his wedding ring YESTERDAY on IG, then filing for divorce today?

So weirdly bipolar and manipulative.

Attention seeking.

From Reddit:

From my point of view, it's a good strategy. He files for joint, and if she wants to go back to the UK, she has to file for primary. He then looks like, oh I'm super reasonable and want us both to have equal time, but she's unreasonable and wants to move the kids to another country away from their loving father who just wants equal time. It's not a bad legal strategy, or PR strategy.

The fact that his side has already leaked the existence of a pre-nup means that the Jonas family is preparing for war. They are going to demand 75% custody, imho.

His leaks seemed designed to prevent her making the case for primary. He knows she wants to be in the UK, and will block it. Although I'm generally sympathetic to her, I do think both parents have rights and it's best for the children to have equal access to both when feasible. If their base is established as Miami, I suppose she needs to accept that. Like when Angelina Jolie made it clear she wanted to move to Europe, and Brad Pitt blocked it. Again, tough but understandable when kids are involved.

Why I would never marry a non-American. I’m fine with someone of a different cultural background, but needs to be settled in the US including extended family.

Now I’m curious if the Miami house they recently sold was jointly titled and what happened to those funds. His side is making statements and indicating they will go nuclear on her.

Who, Mr. perfectly fine?

Oh was that song about him?!?

I was surprised by that too. They both seemed committed to parenthood. Those babies came pretty close together. Hope she’s well.[/quote
The kids are 2 years apart to the month. Not that close.

The kids are 3 and 1. They don’t have a home base. I feel bad for Sophie. The Jonas family is going to steamroll her. He’s playing games and that’s not in the best interest of the kids.

If anything people are speculating he cheated and wants to move a new mommy in. Douchebag.

Can someone tell what is Sophie Turner's family background?

Priyanka is geriatric, that is the secret to stability in a marriage. Sophie is a baby, that is a recipe for instability.

Wait…I thought a younger wife was the only recipe for success? At least that’s what someone upthread says!

This discussion has gone off the rails!

Eva stayed home w their kids and basically stopped acting while he got to keep going and also have a sweet family at home. Two stars with amazing careers probably don’t equal well adjusted kids.

Ryan (and Eva) know what women have to do to get parts in Hollyweird, especially desperate over the hill actresses.

+1. And talented actress.

The Jonas brothers always struck me as conservative Christian types. Nick seems to be willing to do his own thing and I like him for recognizing what an amazing woman he has as a wife with Priyanka. Joe was the best looking and I liked Sophie a lot but it did seem like she was too successful and young to be settling down so fast!

They all have that kind of blank look to them that is common among Christian fundamentalists.

Angelina is an American, though. Sophie is British. I think Joe knows it's going to be a real fight. They don't really have a home base. They own homes in NY and LA, recently sold the one in Miami but I guess Joe is living there now? Sophie is not only British but has career opportunities there, and extended family. That will be relevant should things get nasty between them. Sophie has a much stronger case for being able to live in the UK with the kids at least part of the year, or significant freedom to take them there when she has custody, provided it doesn't interfere with school.

From a "best interests of the children" perspective, they should probably both agree to live in NY primarily and share custody on a regular basis there. This would facilitate both their careers, enable Sophie to go to the UK or even live there part-time more easily than Miami or LA (including likely some holidays with the kids), but keep the family in the US where Joe is based and has family. That's probably the most "fair" solution. But it would require Sophie to give up something significant (permanent/semi-permanent residence in the UK) and it requires that Joe doesn't try to go scorched earth on Sophie just to spite her.

I'm curious about the decision to file in Florida. High-profile litigants often want to avoid NY for divorces, as the process there can be brutal, public, and slow. But NY also has a reputation for following pre-nups closely, especially in high-profile cases, and being unfriendly to litigants who want to set aside aspects of the pre-nup. So Joe's decision to file in Florida could indicate a desire to avoid certain aspects of the pre-nup. I do wonder if he'll be allowed to keep it there, though -- will Sophie even meet the residency requirements to come under their jurisdiction? It is not my impression that they lived there very much over the last few years. The divorce might be removed to NY anyway.

This is a sad one to me because Sophie is so young and these children are so young and there are a lot of things that can go wrong. Joe is behaving pretty aggressively right now and I hope Sophie gets exceptional representation because I am afraid she is in for a tough fight. He seems ready for that (and is egging it on), she does not. I would hate to see a young mother get screwed in this process because her soon-to-be-ex understood this system better, had better representation, and was better resourced in the US generally.

Weird he wouldn’t want to file in a state that is more likely to uphold the prenup. Also, I thought you can be divorced in 90 days in NY once you have the financial/custody agreement in place? Or you can bifurcate the financial agreement.

Interesting that some people think she cheated. Him going scorched earth on her with at least 2 articles accusing her of not seeing her kids (even though they were with her while she was filming in the UK until 3 months ago) and being a crazy party girl makes me think that he did something horrible and his team is trying to get ahead of it.

I really feel for her. She not only has to deal with him but also his crazy, overprotective, "boy mama" family. I just can't get over the fact that he's accusing her of all this when she's spent the last two years either pregnant, (maybe) breastfeeding, and raising two babies and the minute she gets a starring role in the UK... he makes these moves.
