| It’s sad the people who really need asylum and help get grouped with the 90%++ phony asylum cases of the economic migrants here to make cash money for as long as they don’t get deported. Such abuse of the system. |
I’ll repeat for your benefit. They likely are not undocumented now, they likely sought and received asylum a few years back. Fleeing persecution and violence for their safety. The same as thousands upon thousands still do today from the same place. So if people are still fleeing for their safety today, why do so many go back during their vacation time? So many that there are enough for daily flights there. I have no issues against immigration (legally) and asylum (true asylum). Most people in this county’s don’t. It’s this kind of stuff that doesn’t fit the narrative that is concerning. And the gaslighting and vilifying around it when anyone challenges the narrative is dystopian. |
| As someone who is very rich, I love that we bring in immigrants to keep middle class and poor wages down. |
This. I work for a large school system and do home visits twice a year. Year after year I see many who live in really nice houses even though they have no social security number, claim they don't work (work under the table) while receiving free housing, free utilities, free food, free medical exams, free babysitting from Non For Profit organizations. Before someone attacks me, let me say that I am an immigrant who came to study in the US. I have 2 graduate degrees, work a full time job and a part time job but cannot afford buying or renting the houses where many of these people with no social security number reside. In other parts of the world, including the EU, the country takes care of its citizens first, then the citizens of other EU countries and legal immigrants/asylum seekers, then the rest. |
| I love the $150,000.00 pick up trucks. Plus the group homes |
No. |
We live next door to one of these group homes and it’s pretty infuriating. It’s not up to code and the owner is renting it out without a rental license to 4 separate families. It used to be a single family home. They literally have 6 cars and two large work vans that decrease visibility along the street (safety issue when kids are playing outside). And yes, the cars are late model, new and not cheap cars. |
And that’s why this will never change. We have wealthy donors on both sides of the aisle - Democrats and Republicans - who greatly benefit economically from this influx of undocumented immigrants. They want it to continue. Keeps wages down. And it doesn’t affect the wealthy neighborhoods. The kids of these immigrants aren’t attending private schools, so it’s the middle class school clusters (like some in MCPS) that suffer the consequences. |
If it's not up to code, then why haven't you notified the relevant authorities responsible for enforcing code? |
Both sides of the aisle—it’s the Koch Brothers greatest issue and somehow they scammed the Dems to go along. Amazing trick. |
NP. Because code isn’t enforced when you do |
| Who is taking over this forum? Geez! |
|
Biden's immigration reform was awesome. Finally there's an adult in the room. |
Then document the lack of code enforcement and take it up the chain. |
