It’s only temporarily, most i migrants are Hispanic and they have strong support systems in their community. They will soon settle in (many of them to a house) and find jobs (under the table) and the domestic homeless will be there forever because most of them are addicted and mentally ill.
This. I work for a large school system and do home visits twice a year. Year after year I see many who live in really nice houses even though they have no social security number, claim they don't work (work under the table) while receiving free housing, free utilities, free food, free medical exams, free babysitting from Non For Profit organizations. Before someone attacks me, let me say that I am an immigrant who came to study in the US. I have 2 graduate degrees, work a full time job and a part time job but cannot afford buying or renting the houses where many of these people with no social security number reside. In other parts of the world, including the EU, the country takes care of its citizens first, then the citizens of other EU countries and legal immigrants/asylum seekers, then the rest.
