Senator Fetterman has been hospitalized for depression

It's like we don't think the business of government is very important. OR that we all tacitly believe the politicians we elect aren't the ones actually setting the agenda in DC.

Either way, it's disturbing to me. Smacks of such deep pessimism!

I find your analogy really weird. The job of senator and pilot are nothing alike.

Exactly. Planes are mostly automated.

I guess “depression” is what we’re calling cognitive deficits arising out of his stroke that prevent him from doing the job.

Yes and you don't even need the quotation marks.

Fetterman will step down at some point. This was known before the election. There is just no way someone in his condition can serve a full term as a Senator. I just hope the Governor has the good sense not to appoint Fetterman's wife.

This is like when celebs overdose and their PR team claims they’re suffering from “exhaustion.” Fetterman’s PR team and wife are fooling no one. The man has been rendered unfit by his stroke and that’s not his fault, but deceiving voters is wrong.

His doctors are saying he will be hospitalized for months now.

MONTHS.

Poor guy. Completely exploited by people he trusted.

I agree. Pilots are important while Senators just believe they are important.

Until something goes horribly wrong.

Pennsylvania resident here who posted above. Lamb is center-right (he said so himself) and doesn’t care about environmental protection.

This is ridiculous. I’m a Democrat and I say Fetterman owes his constituents more than this. He owes specific details and actual honesty about his fitness. Occupying a seat without being able to fulfill its duties AND without a clear explanation as to when/why is unacceptable. If an R did this, I’d want a special election called yesterday.

When he had his stroke during the campaign, there were legitimate calls for him to release his medical records related to the stroke. He refused and instead, had a doctor (who happened to be a donor) issue a statement.
This should have been a red flag to voters. He wasn't exactly the paradigm of good health prior to the stroke.
