BCC teacher has a problem

And I honestly cannot link the photos to the students... almost all are white. There's a group of white girls with long blonde hair who literally are all the same to me. Another group with long brown hair-- same. I have the photo roster in front of me, look back and forth among the students, and I can't figure out which photo matches which kid.

I have no idea anything about this situation and I would never say out loud to the students that I can't tell them apart. But it's just my reality.

This is true but it was ridiculous of the teacher to say out loud that you all look the same.
I sometimes get students mixed up but I always apologize and try to do better.

So the teacher may well have only had about 2 weeks with the students and that teacher probably teaches hundreds of students every day.

Stop bringing intelligence and common sense into their slavering witch hunt.

The phrasing is bizarre and over the top. I wouldn't want that person around my kids.

I guarantee you that if it was an Asian parent or child reporting that no one would care because I know children who have reported those types of incidents and no one gives a s---.

+100. South Asian here. It happens to my kids a few times a week. Noone is outraged. Know why ? It's our everyday existence. In fact, when non Indians don't mix up my kid with another Indian, I am basically surprised and assume the teacher involved is very evolved, or from California or something.
Why doesn't anyone report the mix ups? Its not submissiveness. It's just inefficient. We all know the drill - you don't care if we are offended so why bother. Nothing is going to change.
And the idea that anyone will get fired over Asians being mixed up is just laughable.

It looks like Dr. Mooney was a nightmare. Especially since he fired the Tattler's sponsor for doing their job. The B-CC Tattler easily did some of the best student reporting in MCPS.

Mooney was threatened by those students exposing all the rot and dysfunction going on at B-CC and MCPS.

Isnt Mooney out on medical leave?

That's the official reason given, but given how tumultuous the last school year was, I imagine he was advised to go on medical leave while they decide what to do with him.

Dr. Munsey at Wheaton High also went an unexpected medical leave and when he came back, he was demoted to an AP at Walter Johnson.

Mooney is still at B-CC

I heard his presentation at Westland for families of rising 9th graders, and he really didn't come across as competent enough to lead a large, competitive high school. Nice in a dopey kind of way, but really, really not competent.

Everyone needs to read that complaint. All the teacher said was “if you don’t sit in your assigned seats I won’t be able to tell you apart” after the two students refused to comply with his seating chart.

If this turns out to be true, once again the DCUM “ruin a persons life, ask questions later” witch-hunt crowd has performed quite admirably.

It wasn't DCUM. It was Mooney who broadcast that, hence why the teacher is suing him and MCPS.

I guess you didn’t read this entire thread.

This is what I want to know. The two situations call for quite different responses.

But I’d bet OP doesn’t care and just wants to stir the pot.

I don’t know why any self-respecting individual would still teach in MCPS. It appears to be a complete and utter mess. For those teachers who put up with the administrative nonsense and incompetent top leadership, and soldier through, thank you.
