My kid has been invited to some and I would say 40-80 kids per event. It’s not always a small percentage.

I call BS. Having hosted 3 mitzvahs and attended dozens, there is no way there are 80 kids in attendance. And with a school of 300 kids per grade, at your make believe event with 80 kids, that's still only 27%, which means 73% DID NOT attend.

Surprised at the antisemitism on this thread. Giving a hoodie out at a Mitzvah is not exclusionary to those not in attendance. Perhaps you might need to look in the mirror if your child hasn't made any Jewish friends and therefore hasn't been invited to any

Also Jewish and want to say that most bar mitzvahs and bat mitzvahs don’t include that many kids. As for the hoodies, I didn’t do those for my own kid because I agree they can make others feel left out, but I think a better lesson is to teach your kid to roll with not getting invited to everything. That’s just part of life. And even if there were no hoodies, everyone knows who is getting invited if it ends up on social media.

Stop, just stop. Don't use this card anytime when poor trait of Jewish communities is being discussed.

I am Jewish. There is not even a hint of antisemitism in this thread.

So we have many parents who fail to see the point. No wonder Tilden is facing problem.

Have party, have celebration. No one cares. Just don't broadcast invitation list using a bill board. That's extremely poor taste.

Thank you for teaching your kids to care about how other may feel.

At least you took some step in positive direction even though kids may come to know about invitation from other sources. You are not adding fuel to fire.

There are all kinds of parents.

Some care about how others feel.

Some don't care about how other feels.

Some do care about how other feels but keep doing something because everyone else is doing.

Some even want to use antisemitism to defend poor behaviors.

If we can get more of first kinds and less of other 3 kinds Tilden will improve, otherwise slide will continue. No, it's not limited to one community. For other communities, similar things exist and you get similar distribution curve.

I have definitely seen Mitzvahs with easily over 40 kids. And yes, even 1/4 of one class wearing all the same sweatshirt on Monday is leaving others out. If you are too dumb to realize that, then keep going on with your entitled life.

I was at one a few weeks ago that had 67 teens in attendance.

There are more issues snd bullying with the girls than the boys. The school is beautiful. Administration is average at best

Did parent group drastically change in Tilden? Or problems can be traced to admins?

I mean, it used to be a good school.

+1

50-60 numbers are not unusual. I always disliked this name tag clothes in school.

Go for other middle schools. It's not a good one.

Tilden needs more after school options. That should fix half of it's problems.
Anonymous
For boys it's probably tolerable school.

Wow, are the Tilden girls really that bad?
