Democrats for Education Reform (Bowser, Goulet etc)

Read this: https://washingtoncitypaper.com/article/304500/a-national-procharter-school-group-is-flooding-dc-mailboxes-with-campaign-flyers-this-cycle/

It states, "In 2018, Alice Walton, the daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton, gave DFER-DC $190,000"

Then this: https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2022/06/07/dc-school-board-election-contributions/

It states, "The local chapter gets significant cash from big donors across the country, including in 2016 nearly $300,000 from Alice Walton, a daughter of the founder of Walmart and a backer of charter schools."

Then you can look at these and see that all of their money from comes from their (c)4 "Dark Money" organization: https://efiling.ocf.dc.gov/FinancialReports/EntireReport/29516/IECNOF150001_2020%20December%2010th%20Report_%20Original and https://efiling.ocf.dc.gov/FinancialReports/EntireReport/17212/IECNOF150001_2018%20December%2010th%20Report_%20Original

There. That should be laid out enough for you to realize that ... what were we talking about again ... oh yeah, that Goulet is unfit for office and is getting illegal help.

Okay, so there was one person you didn't like who we know gave money. That list also included a local philanthropist. I'm also not seeing any "hedge fund" money here. Their filings with DC show basically nothing of interest.

His CV says he thought public school for a whopping 2 years (deduct the three summer breaks from that grand total).

Has anyone seen much improvement in DC? Philly then? Ok then. What are we talking about?!

I don't love the idea of unlimited money in politics, but to call DFER right wing is comical. I don't know that they're anti-union either, although the union definitely seems ferociously anti-DFER.

Republicans stand for idiots vote for them
And you join them.

What’s one educational thing they stand for besides banning books and touching kids genitalia?

Yeah I'm also not seeing how "right wing" they are, when they exclusively fund Democrats. Are some of their ideas appealing to some Democrats? Yes. Do some Democrats not like their ideas? Yes.

It's a gaslighting name, sort of like the anti-democracy groups are called "Americans for ____"

They are funded by the likes of the Koch's, Waltons and Prince/DeVos families.

Hence, right wing.

Thank don't make no sense.

Maybe it's possible that certain people across the political spectrum are backing the same ideas. If Soros funded something is it automatically left-wing? Bill Gates?

No, of course not. But in this case, DFER is advocating for the Charter School system nationally as a means by which to suck public money into de factor religious schools.

Can you show me on their website that that is one of their goals? Or are you one of the union supporters in this thread that just keeps making stuff up (and people keep showing that it is made up)?

Charters operated by churches.

There are over 60 charter organizations in DC, but can you point out one that's operated by a church? You're making sh*t up!
