Wedding, housing, parenting, living are easier if you have money and not so easy if you have low income, debt and no savings. |
Parenting is easier if you are married, and it costs almost nothing to go to a Courthouse and get married. It is certainly cheaper to rent a 1BR apt on two incomes than one, and you won't be denied on the basis of ''brothel'' laws if you are married. The social, financial and legal benefits are endless. |
The obsession so many women have with marry is pathetic |
Marrying a peer from college beats marrying a desperate stranger from Tinder. How is that difficult to understand? |
There are young men in their 20’s who want to marry too. It’s not just the women. |
We are middle class and married young at 24/25. We didn’t have kids until 32/33. It worked for us - we are very established now. Own a $6m home and a vacation home worth $2m. We spent a lot of our 20s travelling and having fun but did it together and also got into the property market early. We aren’t religious but very committed to our families |
really? why? |
I'm still laughing at the idea that a 25 year old is some kind of child bride. |
How is it difficult to understand that those are not the only 2 choices? |
No, just not enough life experience and hence the partner would likely be similar in age. Therefore, you’ve got 2 young people making a lifetime commitment. Try not to be stupid again and choose good judgment. |
Good for you. You are not an example for overwhelming majority of people at that age. Don’t promote it like it works. |
People deep down don’t want “ran-thru” spouses. That goes for both genders. |
I got married when I was 27 20 years ago. UMC. I felt very young, much younger than peers.
But I have no idea what money has to do with it -- or HAS to have to do with it. We both worked and had careers and paid off loans but without kids for years. If anything, our life was cheaper with two earners. |
So marry young not for love. They’ll end up divorced and dating those “ran-they” people that they in turn will become. |
