Based in fundraising only, Frumin is looking like the early favorite, however he’s closely associated with Silverman. Duncan looks strong, however it’s hard to tell how well she’ll do because she’s definitely an outsider. The dark horse is looking like Monash.

Almost all of Duncan's fundraising comes from the Palisades, though (look at the map). She's having a tough time getting traction outside her neighborhood.

Not only did she donate to Pence, she also supported "abstinence only" education for students, and she was a registered republican voting in republican primaries until Mary Cheh decided not to run. Monash is a republican who gave money to Pence and just switched her party status to run for this seat. She has ZERO chance (and very little financial support from within the Ward)

I am not sure how Frumin is associated with Silverman. He isn't a rank progressive like others in the race. I am curious as to what you base that on.

It’s clear that you haven’t looked at the link. Some people like to consider things like facts and data before forming opinions.

1. Monash has the 2nd most $ in fundraising and 25% of her contributions come from Ward 3. She’s has raised more $ from Ward 3 residents than Washington Post endorsed Goulet.

2. There is very strong overlap between Frumin donors and Silverman donors. Indicating that they are politically closely associated.

I’m sorry that this information upsets you.

Overlapping fundraising does not make people aligned. If anything, Beau Finely and Henry Cohen are most closely aligned politically. Maybe the fact that Silverman and Frumin are both Jewish and thus tap into similar communities is the reason for the overlap?

Last night there was a Ward 3 housing forum sponsored by the Washington Interfaith network and the last question was on racism/vitriol (I put this in the other thread on Ward 3) In any case, several of the candidates acknowledged the racism they've encountered when talking to people about housing in Ward 3. The first thing Goulet said was he hadn't heard any racist remarks when talking with people - and my inference from that was he just didn't recognize the meaning behind what people were saying.

"Hugely successful" overstates the case. I will concede that some charters are a lifeline for families whose neighborhood school is unsatisfactory. There are some good charters but overall they aren't any better than DCPS.
