Because it’s not about vaccinations - most of these truckers are vaccinated anyway. It’s about saying ENOUGH to all the lockdowns, the restrictions, the insanity.

It’s not about vaccinations for the govt, either. It’s about ensuring that people submit to the will of the state.

The trolls in this thread constantly saying this is about vaccinations/Putin/Trump are deliberately trying to misconstrue the issue. They know what this is really about - and it terrifies them. Hence the hostility.

I can't believe that in the US we'd rather have teens driving trucks.

But PPs are correct. It's the mandates that don't make sense. Don't any of you think it's a little silly to require vaccinations to go places when everyone you know is vaxxed and boosted and still got Covid?

Of course it’s silly. But it doesn’t matter. What matters is making sure you submit to whatever the authorities demand of you - no matter how silly.

This country has teens going to war for it, driving armor, maintaining aircraft, crewing ships. The average age on an aircraft carrier is 20.

They are fighting mandates - all of them. Masking, proof of vaccination and whatever else is out there, gathering limits and whatever else is out there.

One group gathered to protest in a Province that is already looking at lifting restrictions, and was before the convoy started.

I'm not sure how they plan to deal with the fact that even IF things are changed in Canada, they have to be vaccinated to get into the U.S.

Canada is EXTREMELY locked down compared to America. Businesses, schools etc. People have, quite reasonably, had enough.

Of course they have. I don't see this changing anything though. One Premier responded, and the changes he mentioned were already in the works.

There's a lot of places where these truckers live and where they go to that aren't even 60% vaccinated, let alone boosted. And many truckers travel all around the country - if they catch it in one part of the country, they can carry and spread it all over. And maybe you have a huge freezer already stocked with a side of beef and a cellar full of canning, but most other people don't, and people start to go hungry if their store shelves are empty for a week. And guess who delivers those groceries to the stores? The truckers. But nah, let's ignore safety, let them get sick, whatever.... That's far more sensible.

And when people start suffering because the supply chain collapsed because some of the truck drivers stupidly and pointlessly behaved like manchildren, indulged in dumb anti-vax conspiracy theories, and had a tantrum-convoy instead of just doing the jobs they were hired to do, it certainly won't endear those truckers to anyone.
