The bolded really strained my credulity. I don't understand how a lowly agent could destroy a deal made several layers above her. Presumably FBI isn't so entrepreneurial that you just go out and arrest people. There's be paperwork, clearances, etc. and no one stopped her? Is this deal so super secret that no one even knows about it, and therefore it could be easily scuttled by just about anyone not a party to it? Doesn't seem credible. |
| I’m glad I wasn’t the only one baffled by Agent Miller going rogue. I hope they explain that. |
Sign me up! |
Ruth shouting at Wendy "You F…. C…" was great. |
+1 No chance! He's actually pretty stupid. I can't believe he didn't figure out that Marty was the mole. Duh! |
DP. Yes, they cremated him at their handy-dandy crematorium. I'm pretty certain Ben is dead. |
DP. Totally agree. That was the one scene in the entire series that I found completely implausible. No way would she have been able to go above her bosses. I wonder if the next half of the season will show her being fired because of that. |
That whole final scene when she burst into their house, demanding to know who killed Darlene and Wyatt was FIRE!!! Ruth is amazing. |
|
I'm only on Episode 4.
Wendy is great character. Laura Linney is amazing in this role. But Wendy is such an absolute b!t$h. |
|
On episode 2, this shit is so boring.
What happened ? First three seasons were great |
I think she becomes one dimensional in this season. In previous seasons she had some humanity but after she had Ben given up, she lost it all and turned essentially evil. |
Erm, Marty was not the mole, Javi's uncle was the mole. |
Marty was indeed the mole. He contacted Omar every time a drop was scheduled so that Omar could make sure it was ambushed. So technically, they were working together as moles. |

The only reason I think Jason might be alive is that I can’t otherwise figure out how Wendy and Jonah will reconcile (if it turns out she was acting to cover up Jason going into hiding, Jonah could forgive her).
The Agent Miller plot hole could have happened bc hermaking the arrest so publicly ensured that her bosses could not renege, however she would be immediately fired and so far they haven’t mentioned that. I adore Marty and Ruth, and hope their friendship is developed and featured more in the final season. He is all Ruth has left to count on. Last musing- I got a kick out of the Wyatt-Darlene couple and am bummed they are gone. Also because Darlene was a bad-ss, albeit one touched by madness. |
1) You mean Ben (who’s “Jason”?)? Just making sure I’m not missing something. 2) I work with federal law enforcement and find the Agent Miller story fascinating. And to your point, it’s not a plot hole (just regular suspension of disbelief). She was BRILLIANT to arrest him publicly. Here is a wanted international criminal on US soil. FBI absolutely has jurisdiction. If her highest supervisors want to fire or otherwise punish her, what are their grounds? Can’t just fire a federal employee. Miller is entitled to due process and a hearing. It’s not like they can say, as justification, “She scuttled our Super Secret, Super Shady deal with a drug dealer that would’ve allowed him to keep drug-dealing and killing with impunity…” Now in the real world, sure they can make up some stuff about workplace misconduct or performance problems. But nothing fireable, is my guess. And Miller may have led the arrest as a toss-the-match-behind-as-you-walk-away move. She may have thought her days as an agent were numbered anyway, and she was someone who truly cared about getting the Big Fish. Also, I knew from the start of this season that Wyatt was gonna die, but I was still sad it happened. |
