I thought Dems cared about low SES people, not highly-paid lawyers and Wall Street folks?

We want everyone in society to benefit, not just the 1%.

Correct, labor share of GDP has been declining for decades with the last 20 years the worst as capital keeps taking from labor. For this to reverse we need across the board pay increases as we are seeing now.

That's exactly what biden is trying to do with BBB. Thanks Joe Manchin.

Don't forget - it had no Republican support either. Proof Republicans only care about kissing the asses of the 1% and making them richer at the expense of the rest of their constituents.

The Wall Street Journal which cares about “highly-paid lawyers and Wall Street folks” published the article.

Correct.

Because look here: when poor people get money, they spend money. Any of us who have known true lean times, if not actual out and out poverty, know that you delay and delay as many purchases as you can.

Biden’s economy is rocking and the GOP corporate owned media doesn’t want you to know it.

OMG...

first of all, Fox has more viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined.

Second, social media, funded by Russian Oligarchs, have their alghorythms set to amplify right wing propaganda. the top ten posts daily on Facebook are all right wing.

Third, I would argue that MSNBC is "left leaning" with its nightime hosts, but that their newshole is factual/centrist. I would argue that CNN took a right turn over the past year and is centrist right. Add to it OANN, Newsmax and other right wing media that is ramping up viewership, particularly as the extreme right eschew Fox because *gasp* they require their on set talent in NY to be vaccinated.

Forth, viewership for things like CBS and ABC News is WAY down. It isn't the Bog 3 with Uncle Walk telling it like it is anymore and hasn't been for more than 25 years.

Ugh, Big 3 and Walt (Walter Cronkite, for those too young...)

FOX has more viewers because the non-right-wing market is very balkanized. Normal people get their news from a whole variety of sources. FOX News viewers on the other hand have been systematically conditioned to believe that all of the rest of the media is "liberal lamestream lies" so they avoid those other sources and mostly just cling to FOX.

A new low of 198,000 unemployment claims.

Unemployment at 4.2%, millions of jobs created, retail sales on-line and in stores way up.

I would say Biden's economy is doing fine and will get better as inflation is addressed.

Dems are the party of the rich elites, the ones who always talk about asking to be taxed more but are secretly happy to not pay or ever do anything substantially helpful with their money that they aren't leaving to their kids and will only donate after they die.

There is much in BBB that benefits the low SES.
What have Republicans done for the low SES lately? Nothing.

The Trump tax cuts benefited the 1% - oligarchs who are mostly republicans. Let's not kid ourselves about who the elites are. Who shat in a gold plated toilet?

By and large, they are not republicans. The richest sectors are dominated, and it's not even close, by dems - tech, media, entertainment, Wall St., major businesses/CEOs, universities with billion dollar endowments, banking, and so on. For better or worse, dems control the money in this country, and they are as good at hoarding it as any republicans ever were. They are just better at the lip service and messaging side of things.

I missed this with the holiday......

President Joe Biden is struggling in the minds of the American public. While his approval rating is down on a slew of issues, his difficulties are perhaps most noticeable on the economy.

Biden now sports the lowest net economic rating of any president at this point through their first term since at least Jimmy Carter in 1977.
In the latest CNN/SSRS poll, Biden comes in with a 44% approval rating to 55% disapproval rating among registered voters on his economic performance. This makes for a -9 point net approval rating. The average of all polls taken in December is quite similar with Biden at -13 points on the economy.
To put that in perspective, the average president at this point in the last 44 years (since we have been polling on the topic) had a net economic approval rating of +5 points. That means Biden's is 18 points worse than the average.

This is accurate and 100% on point. They've done nothing but obstruct the things that would help the poor and low income families. That's their entire MO of governance.
