Toughest Peloton Instructor or Ride

I find Adrian and Chase’s classes (strength) to be repetitive. Rather than doing only 3 rounds of a circuit, they’ll do the same 3 exercise circuit like 8 times in a 10 min workout.

Running- Another Matt Wilpers fan. (Also really like his pre/post run stretches). When I’m looking for a low key strength work out, I’ll do his strength for runners. I also like Kristen Ferguson- high energy and chatty.

I love Jess Simms for lifting. I think Jess King is the toughest though.

Speaking of hardcore athletes, I think Becs is incredible. I did one of her body weight classes and it about killed me. I love her classical music runs and walks.

I love Becs. She's in my top 3 with Ben and Wilpers. Has a good balance of personal commentary (though she does tend to talk a lot about her boyfriend) and coaching, and a great music selection, especially the classical rides. Very solid, intelligent coach.

I’ll have to try Ben, because I love Wilpers too. Like Becs he is just so focused on helping to improve your performance. I find it really motivating. I love Becs so much that I’m doing a warm-up and post-exercise stretch faithfully for the first time in my life.

Same here! That's why I enjoy Wilpers and Becs' classes so much. I feel like I'm learning something every time. Matty also has fun running classes. He's less focused on the technical side, but tells good stories. It's like running with a buddy.

I will have to give Becs a try! I am one of the PPs who likes Ben Alldis and Matt Wilpers so she sounds like she’d be my speed.

Do you think instructors get fired (or penalized?) if no one takes their classes? How does popularity factor in for pay?

The best instructors- bike Matt (great teacher), tread- Becs (great teacher) and Marcel Dinkins (hilarious and makes the runs go by faster), strength- Jess (she really fires up my muscles) and runners ups are Rad, Adrian, Selena, and Emma for core. Bike Bootcamp- Tunde and Jess. Tread Bootcamp- Jess and Adrian. Yoga- Kristin and Dennis (old school yoga instructors). I sprinkle other instructors here and there but those above are my go-tos.

Nobody's rides are more consistently difficult than OA. Very demanding. I do most of them and when I do a ride with someone else I always feel like I could have worked harder

I’m the PP. Generally speaking, I quit riding hard for each ride. I’ve decided to give my heart a rest and only take two hard classes (bike or tread) per week. But I wonder if she follows her rides while teaching. The couple of rides I took of hers I could not have been that talkative, with any amount of clarity, while taking them.

I don’t think they get fired - very few have left and it was for other issues. I’m thinking it’s the opposite - they get some sort of bonus or commission if they reach a certain ridership on a ride. Just a guess though!

I think very few of them follow their own rides, or if they do it’s the very minimum end of the call out. There’s no way ally or Robin are doing their Tabata classes at full force and talking like they do. However Tunde I guarantee you is working her ass off.

She stops to dance a lot though. I don’t think she’s be high up on the leaderboard with the amount of breaks she takes. But I still love her classes!

Alex takes lots of breaks and just stands up costing 1 2 1 2 😂

She's the one that got me into Peloton just using the app before I had the bike and I agree, she's gotten a little full of herself lately, but she still motivates me to work hard. Plus, I tend to gravitate toward her music. If I want a hard bike workout, I'll go for Tunde, Robin, Jess King, Kendall, and Alex. Even Alex's 10 min arms are a good workout--and Tunde's too of course. Kendall is awesome--not sure why she's not part of the cool girl Peloton group. I have this theory that she and Robin don't get along and that's why. I think she's the prettiest of them all and her workouts are hard. Love her style too. Cody is my go-to for fun rides. His rides tend to be easier, but I'll ride with him when I need to laugh or just take my mind off of working out. Emma Lovewell is kind of boring, but I love her 90's rides. Love Leanne--she not super tough, but her workouts are solid and I just love her positive energy. I like Jenn Sherman for certain musical choices--don't love her, but I like the fact that she doesn't make this look like a walk in the park and is legit working out hard with you at the same time. Jess Sims, Olivia, and Adrian are the toughest for strength. Cannot stand Andy Speer or Rebecca Kennedy (no wonder they're a couple, ugh). I haven't tried the bike with Olivia yet---have heard those are crazy hard. For running outside, my go-tos are still Robin and Jess Sims.

I nearly peed my pants taking Rebecca’s latest Halloween core strength class. I was like WTF. I just sat there and watched it like it was tv. Bad tv.

He’s a joke. I don’t take his classes either.

I find all of the male instructors classes to be repetitive so I tend to avoid them.
