Just go away, hater. You seem to have this strange, rabid need to bash a school you know nothing about under the guise of “diversity.” Enough already.

Wrong. I have close connections both to Wisconsin generally and UW-Madison in particular.

sounds like the perfect storm

I was sexually assaulted on State St. by two drunk guys (strangers) on Halloween. Tell your kids to stay safe and look out for each other.

And chocolate ice cream is better than strawberry ice cream. BTW, Duke is known for having a party scene. I have never heard that.

They posted the same stupid comment on a thread about Milwaukee.

I don't get why a kid from another part of the country would go to a big state school somewhere else, unless you have or want to create some tie to that area.

Actually Madison is a better college town, has the lakes and is generally more beautiful and lively than Ann Arbor.

They are both great college towns. I’ve never heard any graduate of Michigan sigh that they didn’t go to Wisconsin.

This. Someone is trying too hard, and it shows.

Stop with the hyperbole. You can get the same or better combination at dozens of other schools.

Criticizing hyperbole and then trotting out "dozens" in the next sentence? So DCUM. Go on, then, name 24. Heck, name 12. We'll wait.

UCLA - better academics, athletics are generally on par, not as big a party school
Florida - bigger football but not academics or party
GA - Nope
UNC - better academics, but no to the other two
Duke is a small private school with a big hoops program and thats about it.

There are other schools with the academics and D1 sports:

Stanford, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Michigan, UNC, UCLA, Cal.

But other than Michigan, none of those schools compares with the across the board school spirit and successful athletic programs in the "revenue" sports (yes, the California schools have a ton of championships in beach volleyball, water polo etc that most schools do not field teams) and the SEC schools, other than Vandy, are simply not as good academically.

PP here...yes, I would add Texas to this list. Many call Austin, Madison of the south and vice versa.

And most Wisconsin grads don’t regret not going to Michigan.
