What private school did Mary Schmidt Amons attend?

Anonymous
I'm surprised that the Real Housewives of DC bio didn't say what private school she attended? Anyone know? Could it be that she attended public school? Oh my word! Say it isn't so!

Any clue what private schools the other Amons children attented?

Oh please - spare me the "think of the children!' drama...The parents of the "children" in question thought nothing of plastering them across reality TV so I really don't think any specualtion by an anonymous poster on a message board is some grave cause for concern.

BTW isn't Lolly now an adult....

I think she went to Bishop O'Connell. Class of 1984.

I have to laugh at the assumption that this family automatically attended/attends private schools.

After watching the show, their focus seems to be solely on the superficial aspects of life with only a passing thought on developing the mind. So much time spent by them on creating the perfect Christmas card and no real concern over a 23-year-old daughter who has no job, has moved back home and is more interested in her mother's clothing than planning her future.

Having money is no guarantee that there is also a high level of intellect.

And being on a reality tv show is inversely related to intellect!

Which explains why she attended Bishop O'Connell.

Not nice pp -it's not that bad is it?

I'm sure her dad is not all that thrilled with this reality TV show of hers. Bob Schmidt is one of the most genuine people you will ever meet. Does so much good for the community and for his support of the Lombardi Cancer Center. Hard to believe she's his kid.

No, O'connell is actually a very good school, but the diocesan schools in the Diocese of Arlington have always had an unfair rep for being a haven for JDs, largely because Arlington and Fairfax have such good publics.

I did know of a kid who ended up at O'Connell after getting kicked out of Gonzaga twice (he was a legacy, so he was given another chance), but his family lived in DC?

I just googled Lolly Amons and found this random thing on PipiProfiles or whatever it's called (see below.) It seems as if she went to, gasp, Langley High School.

While I don't disagree with your concerns, remember, that the show's producers pick what we the audience see. It may be that there is more concern over this. Also, just a note -- the kid does have a job - granted, as a waitress at Leopold's but at least she is out there doing something.

BTW, I love Cafe Leopold. It was cool to see it on tv. I guess this is what appealing to me about the show, that we get to see DC locales. True, we'll never see my neighborhood, where these people will never go, but it's a lot more than the usual DC-based movie with quick flashes of the Washington Monument.

ITA! My wealthy friends/family are almost anti-intellectuals. Inherited money is the bastion of the insipid. It empowers the lazy.

Just watched the latest episode. Mary's opening comment was "I don't make money - I spend it!!!!" And she seemed so unashamed in her pronouncement. Proof positive that inherited money rarely makes it beyond that generation.

Yes, apparently she spends it at the Safeway in McLean! All the other housewife shows have the women going out shopping boutiques. DC housewives they have shopping at the grocery store. That was the most exciting thing they could find???
