While I don't disagree with your concerns, remember, that the show's producers pick what we the audience see.  It may be that there is more concern over this.  Also, just a note -- the kid does have a job - granted, as a waitress at Leopold's but at least she is out there doing something.

BTW, I love Cafe Leopold.  It was cool to see it on tv.  I guess this is what appealing to me about the show, that we get to see DC locales.  True, we'll never see my neighborhood, where these people will never go, but it's a lot more than the usual DC-based movie with quick flashes of the Washington Monument.[/quote]
