PSA: Men Are Capable Adults

Anonymous
Yes. They are. So here's my hard earned advice for all of you women in heterosexual marriage.

Get them in the habit of helping early on. Are you taking out the garbage, or doing the dishes?

When you have a baby, let him care for a crying baby. Either he'll figure something out or he'll appreciate you more.

Be honest about your own flaws and model trying to work on them.

Make sure he spends time managing at home, even if you have to engineer it by needing to go to your friends house to help her fold laundry or something

PSA: Of course they are, because otherwise you UMC lifestyle with reduced (or zero) work hours would not exist. So be grateful he brought you along for the ride.

So...these "capable adults" need to be parented like children by their wives?

Thanks for the advice.

Well, if the best you can do is a low-T guy who earns way less than you...that's on you I guess.

This is foolish advice.

Here’s some better advice:

If you have to strategize how to get him to fulfill basic responsibilities and be your equal around the house, then dump him. Do it quickly. He won’t get better and no matter how clever your tactics are, he will find ways to thwart them because his laziness works for him.

Lol Yes was about to comment that I know so many who make equal or more than their husbands and also do most of all the other home work.

Why didn't you marry a higher earner?

NP. I’m sure they shook the High Earner Tree really hard, but it was probably out of men that day.

Wouldn’t that make me a lazy gold-digger to you?

Somebody married the high earners! I wonder what they had to offer.

I married a high earner and he’s a mean spirited POS whom I can’t wait to divorce.

Op
The skills of earning money can be applied to regular life too. We don't need this artificial division.

What's stopping you? I'm sure he'll be gutted.

No. The wives need to let go and let them do things without micromanagement.

And most will be surprised what their husbands can do, left to their own devices.
