Has anyone gotten MCAP reports from 2023 testing?

Anonymous
We still haven't gotten anything from 2023 testing, and the state results were reported in September so they have got to be available. Has anyone gotten their child's report yet?

Nope. When inquired at the Central office a month ago, they said reports are in office need time to prepare them to be sent to families via post office. So stupid to take that much time to test students and they can't even get them out for anyone to find any meaning before this year's test are administered. In past year, CO said the delay was because of a (new) vendor. Lame.

It seems odd that people are getting them at different times. Don’t they come from central office?

Do not hesitate to contact Central Office for answers. You are a tax paying county resident. From recent news about Central Office, we know they may not have the people there to do the job to get the reports out within a reasonable time period.

There may be another office to contact, but here is the link to the MCPS Office of Shared Accountability: montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/sharedaccountability/units/

The person the state refers parents to in order byo in get the MCAP report is Donna Blaney, the Supervisor of the Testing and Reporting Unit: Donna_M_Blaney@mcpsmd.org
You will probably have to repeatedly email her to get the report, though. -DP

Pertaining to MCAP results, read page 6 on this thread re: reducing Central office personnel: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/75/1185723.page

^ "When I asked the state about this in November, they told me the following:

“Thank you for your email regarding your child's MCAP scores. Each local education agency has received student scores for MCAP assessments in ELA, mathematics and science. Please contact your child's school for a copy of the individual student report (ISR). The school should have both a hard copy, and a digital copy which they can provide to you.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.”

It’s now February, and MCPS couldn’t be bothered to send reports they have had for months. They just don’t want us to know how bad the scores were."

Is it possible they are fudging the scores to make them look better before sending them out? I received my current 4th graders scores but have not received my current 6th graders scores yet.

Or are they mailing out starting with the younger grades and moving on up (very very very slowly) to mail the upper grades?

Ha! Could be. Just as they tried to do with the dates in the scandal report.
