Maybe you're talking about a different MCPS? The MCPS for this forum is the Montgomery County, Maryland, Public Schools.

Yes, the same one I am talking about. The "reopeners" who brainwashed their kids to protest with signs on Rockville Pike, the same ones who constantly tweet, email, give public comments to the BOE about all the learning their kids will lose on a 1/2 day. Those are the ones.

These are the same families bring covid into the schools. Is this a surprise?

Nope. They are the loudest screamers and they have won.

Good luck with that "stay open" screamers, you are getting what you wanted. Hospitals in MD are ready to shut down non essential surgeries and are only a few hundred admissions away from stating their pandemic plans.

But by all means, keep on eating out, complaining about masks, sending your kids to school and activities sick, not testing. It's working so well so far.

Paint Branch High School is up to 73 positives. Many other schools have high numbers as well. And, this information may not be current as of today.

What a dumb take. Viruses don't work that way.

Where do you think covid comes from? Either one or more people bring it into the school or you catch it at school. Simple. Look at how many families here post they have no issue sending their sick kids to school. Hold on, it will be a bumpy ride.

How many? And how do you know how many actual people in MCPS they represent, considering that it's all anonymous posts on an internet message board?

Do you think people are making up the covid positive letters?

If you look at the dashboard and what is going on locally, lots of large numbers of covid in the schools. Several privates went virtual.

Are covid cases going up? Evidently yes.

Do you know who's getting covid, at school, and what their family does about [restaurants, vacations, whatever]? No. No, you don't.

"“Our shared goal is to keep kids safe and keep them in school where they learn best.” said Dr. Stoddard."

Good.

What is their plan to keep students and staff "safe"?

Good question.

So, what is your anwser?

It's not kids taking up beds in the hospitals. The elderly, sickly and antivaxxers need to isolate themselves.

Hard to do when they are parents of kids who could not go virtual; hard to do when they need to go to work to keep roofs over the heads and their colleagues act irresponsibly; hard to do when they need to go to medical appointments for their conditions, all in Covid-infested medical facilities.

You need to understand that vulnerable people aren't all retirees with means - most of them are forced to interact with irresponsible people everyday.

So who needs to change their attitude when cases spike and hospitals are saturated? The irresponsible people, of course.

Vaccinated are getting Covid at high rates. Stop with the blame game.

See response above. My cancer-surviving boostered friend is 50 with a 15 year old vaccinated daughter and needs to show up to work and she needs to go to school. What are you going to do, PP? Blame him for not isolating? Do you want to pay his wages, perhaps? Pay for virtual school for his daughter? He still has not recovered fully, and it's actually doubtful he has a lot of antibodies from his vaccines.

All those who "don't care" and "just live their lives" are morally responsible for inflicting suffering and death on such innocent people who try to do the right thing.

Shame on you, and shame on every irresponsible person.

Mcps offered virtual school. If your friend choose in person, that is on them. They can still apply.
