Do we know they intended an “hours long hike”? |
It's impossible to do 8.5 miles with a 25-pound weight strapped to your back in under an hour. Impossible. And the local law enforcement said they'd completed nearly the entire trail. |
Yeah, I don't get it. I was living in Baltimore when I had my baby. There was a heatwave when she was about 9 months. It was 106 when I picked her up from daycare and I was nervous just carrying her the few blocks home. And, I get that dry heat is different, but it's instinctive to protect a baby from extreme weather. |
They meant overhead shade. There was no tree cover to shade the hiking trail or cool down the atmosphere/land around them. They were walking in a arid desert in 103F with a baby. Voluntarily. |
This thread makes me feel better about being somewhat of a couch potato. |
The timeline isn't actually clear. We don't really know where they went or at what time of day, or the temperature. It was a hot day. But we don't know when they died. We don't know if their deaths were primarily or secondarily heat related or entirely something else. |
I've followed this thread closely and I also am not clear on this. Unless the ME wants to wait for check the box and allow toxicology results to clear before making an announcement? |
Would they not check the weather first?
Sometimes you see a family in an airport and the man is ahead carrying nothing, and the woman is behind carrying all the luggage. Who knows if they equally shared carrying the baby, or if one did most of the carrying. He may have been doing most of it to ease her burden. |
Is that what they intended to do? |
You jnow they used to say the four minute mile was impossible too. It should only take 32 minutes. /s |
+1. Exercise is dangerous! |
💯 This doesn’t happen at garden stores or Barnes & Noble where I spend my free time. |
I’m curious, How does law enforcement know they almost completed the whole trail? |
They probably checked their cell phone location history. |
Everyone involved is dead and immune to your shaming. Now what? |
