It's much more efficient to relocate one school than to close one old one and open one new one.

Then call it what it is. A school closure and follow process (whatever that may be). Let’s do this right.

Of course, that will mean more meetings and more work, but that’s not really the standard here.

Does that mean all the Parkway parents will be on board? Does that mean people won’t say nasty, even racist things?

No, but process still must be followed. Democracy at its best.

They've done analysis, notice, and opportunities for public comment. That's the process.

As population centers and distribution change in the county it makes sense to move schools to increase the number of walkers. For example, in the same area, they should really think about replacing one of the more dilapidated Wootton feeders with the Great Seneca Science Corridor ES which is planned for near the intersection of Key West Ave and Shady Grove Rd, then draw the Downtown Crown area as well as the Shady Grove area in + perhaps even the current Ritchie Park island at Fallgrove.

My understanding is that school closure will be an explicit part of the ES Boundary study scope because they anticipate that, at the end of that study, a number of ESs won’t exist at any location.

Wow, the more dilapidated Wootton feeders. Let's replace Rockville with Gaithersburg.

Tbf the most dilapidated Wootton feeders are DuFief and Stone Mill, which are not in Rockville, but rather “North Potomac” ie Gaithersburg.

The most dilapidated building is undeniably Magruder. Give us a plan. We rather be at Crown if only to force the issue of getting us on the CIP. Option H will not result in a plan for Magruder.

Wootton considers your kids less worthy than theirs so its ok that ceiling tiles are falling and could kill someone, apparently. Funny as Magruder would probably jump at the chance for a new school.

Walkability is just one part of being assigned to a school. Most don't have that luxary with the two mile rule.

Stone Mill is not going to be closed although it could be rebuilt at the Cavanaugh Drive site near Potomac Glen.

What should have been done that wasn’t done?

No matter what anyone tells you, you’ll assert that it was done, so you don’t really want to know. Wait for the lawsuit, then you’ll have your answer.

Why are you waiting to file the lawsuit? Shouldn't it have been done months ago? No one cares so you threatening it is silly. Just do it already. What about 20 families are involved out of 1600+ students...

Stonemill has a pretty new building. Why does it need to be closed or rebuilt

Direct, fulsome answers/responses to all of the pointed, nuanced questions asked/issues raised (not just the ones hand picked as easily addressable by gatekeeping moderators),

With all questions/issues and corresponding answers/responses made public for fully informed stakeholder consideration,

With public access to the data/map construction tools used by MCPS/the consultant such that any variation could be equivalently presented for BOE consideration (if they so chose),

With timing to allow for all of that.
