Now what for Thu/Fri…snow day?

Now we know road conditions are bad and will not melt.

My bet is:
Thursday - 2 hour delay
Friday - closure

No boo

They should just announce ski week and the local ski spots should reduce their rates until Sunday. Drive up tourism. Let’s all take leave and go ski.

The non skiers can hang around drinking hot choc and complain about MCPS.

Life is short. These kids are in their glory. Helps seasonal depression. I really don’t care either way

I think no delay tomorrow (bc they are taking heat for waiting so long to call today)

Virtual learning Friday.

They are not going to do virtual learning on Friday because majority of students in elementary school do not have Chromebooks at home.

This. You can’t do virtual learning with no notice.

Kids will be given Chromebooks tomorrow to take home. Isn’t this what would make the most sense

Today is Wednesday. If they have school tomorrow they can send the Chromebooks home.

It is right in the middle of testing. I vote for open on time tomorrow and Friday early dismissal.

-signed a teacher who has a lot of work to do and can drive in winter weather and has kids that do not adjust well to these changes in schedule.

They should be sending Chromebooks home on a daily basis throughout the winter so that virtual learning days can be implemented whenever needed. Having to make up missed days in June is worthless. Virtual days do not have to be complicated. Kids can check in with teachers, be given instructions for assignments, done. It's dumb that in 2024 MCPS cannot figure out how to work from home when needed.

At least there’s actual snow for them to play in this time!
