I just want it! I’ve been chunky all my life though not medically overweight at the moment. Perpetually striving to lose 15lbs. Think about food all day everyday.
Can anyone relate? |
Yes, I have gone from being very skeptical about it to wanting it. Especially to get rid of food noise. I am so tired of it. |
My BMI is 34, and I am wanting it. I have a new concierge doc and we have our first appt in January and will talk about it then.
It's hard to get your hands on now, though, isn't it? |
Yes. I have been on it for almost a year (though I didn’t lose as much as I had hoped). I haven’t been able to get it for two months, during which time I have regained most of the weight I had lost. |
Yeah, this was my concern. I probably won't take it. I've lost a very significant amount of weight on WW twice -- and it has all come back on, both times. I just can't handle the yoyo anymore, whether it is due to medication or points counting. |
Absolutely jealous. I’m breastfeeding now so it isn’t an option and instead taking advantage of learning from my friends’ experiences (which have been positive thus far). |
It’s hreat but the side effects can be debilitating. I’m sure it will be widely available in the near future. |
At BMI of 34 I'd suggest you go to a bariatric clinic. They can walk you through the plus / minuses of all the options. They also don't charge for injectables and know how to get it approved by insurance. https://marylandbariatrics.com/ |
Personally I'm glad to not be able to take it. I'd rather wait to see what happens once millions of people are on it to see if it's safe first. |
I’ve been on Ozempic for over a year. Insurance covers it because I’m prediabetic. Lost 25lbs and finally feel free from the food noise. I have not had any of the debilitating side effects. |
I have lost approx 50 lbs since I started Wegovy in March. I lost 50 lbs “on my own” over 12-15 mos before I started it and still have at least 25 lbs more to go.
I was able to get the rx from my regular doctor and although the insurance approval process has been a pain a few times it hasn’t been as bad as I thought it would be. I had to drive to a pharmacy in Herndon once to fill the rx but otherwise have only had to go to maybe 2 pharmacies (cvs) all relatively close to me. I havent had any bad side effects. I have some loose skin on my upper arms which is a bummer but its better than a lot of fat on my upper arms instead. Im doing strength training to remedy that as much as possible. The difference in my appetite, ability to say “no” to food, and general “food noise” is incredible. I had to force myself to eat a Reeses Xmas tree the other day when in the past I would have eaten the whole pack without thinking. |
I did one dose and that was it. The side effects were so brutal that it isn't worth it for me. I have a pile sitting here unused and I can't even look at it without wanting to barf. |
For 15lbs? You're insane, OP.
Eat less. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Move more. Stop drinking your calories. That's it. |
I was on Wegovy starting mid-January 2023, and have been off for about 3 weeks. Have lost 52 pounds, had no side effects and had no trouble getting the medication (for a $25 copay with insurance). Am done losing, so now have to work at maintaining. |
OP here. I mean, yeah, I do know how to lose weight. (In fact, in the past 6 months I’ve lost 40lbs following the birth of my second child.) All I’m saying is that it would be nice to not have to struggle so hard. |
