How often do you offer or pay for your nanny's lunch/coffee?

I work remotely fulltime and just to get some air, I pick up starbucks about 3x a week. Do you guys pay for your nanny's lunch or coffee every time you pick up something? I offer to get something for my nanny every time but it's starting to get really expensive. My order is normally just a tall coffee, but she orders venti macchiatos with milk alternatives and other fancy drinks. My orders have been over 12 bucks lately. I feel bad not offering but 36+ bucks a week on coffee is just too much.

Ugh, that’s frustrating. You are being very kind and generous and I do think it’s a bit presumptuous to order that size and those modifications when someone else is paying, that person has just ordered a tall coffee and this isn’t just a one-off special occasion. I think nanny is taking some advantage of you.

I am not a head-on type, so what I’d probably do is go somewhere other than Starbucks and ask if she wants you to bring her back a regular coffee or tea. Or I’d run out but start having them fill a travel mug rather than the to-go cup. Or scale it back to once a week for a few weeks.

Can you get your coffee/lunch "for here" instead of bringing it home? You don't have to tell her where you're going.

Usually 1 Friday a month I'll get her a coffee and say happy Friday

Only when nanny and kids are out with me.

the simple answer is either to brew at home or go to a coffee place without the fancy options (not Starbucks, as a PP mentioned above). If you are just getting a tall coffee, there is better available in most places than Starbucks.

Just go out and don't offer. Drink your coffee while doing other errands or have it there.

I bought a nespresso machine and I get her fave pods. Much cheaper and better than Starbucks.

I agree. It’s way too much. I would not be buying her coffee except for a rare treat.

I work from home every day and buy my nanny lunch whenever I get it for myself, usually 1-2x/week. She doesn’t ask for anything more expensive than what I’m buying for myself. I brew my own coffee but in your situation, I would also be annoyed and would stop buying her coffee.
