Anecdotally a lot of kids are planning to major in Kinesiology.

Was surprised as it seems to be a rather niche field and limited career options ( and pay).

Do these kids get any counseling before pick such majors?

I've heard that Kinesiology is a good major for pre-med or pre-PT/OT. I don't think that many kids are doing it expecting to become personal trainers or PE teachers someday.

Accepted in the last few days to Drexel (Recording & Music Production), Belmont (Commercial Music) and College-Conservatory of Music at U Cincinnati (Music).

Drexel was acceptance after a deferral and the university acceptances to Belmont and U Cincinnati came months ago, but just received acceptance to the music programs, which are more selective.

They’ll get advising in college. My kids didn’t officially declare their majors until sophomore year.

Unless they don't get into med school which happens often.

I have no personal experience with this, but thank you for highlighting all of these efforts -- it's a privilege to learn about these students' efforts and to celebrate their accomplishments. Genuinely.

It was SOO much work. He actually chose not to apply to some additional schools once he saw their portfolio/music application/audition requirements. And the one that was the most work (Jacobs at IU) he was rejected but that’s how it goes. My older kid applied for engineering and it was so much easier, I was not prepared for this!

Got into UConn and U Denver for Music as well (and a couple of safeties). Still waiting for Ithaca College and Berklee decisions.

Thanks for the kind words, I have a newfound respect for these music and other performing arts applicants.
