Not everone is a blind sheep. |
Of course they do. Maybe more classic conservatives than Trump 'conservatives' (given that it's a pretty anti-intellectual take). Someone gave a whole list above of conservatives who went to Harvard (eg, Elise Stefanik). And most graduates -- the males at least -- of HBS are conservative. |
Harvard required DEI statements from all faculty members. That isn’t critical thinking, it is textbook indoctrination. |
I'm sure nothing President Trump does is justified, according to you. IDC IDGAF Your party needed a wake up call based on the systemic racism, violence, lawfare and random social justice they were practicing. Everything democrats whine/whined about was an admission of their own behavior. Get used to it. More coming. |
I am sure they used to. If conservative political views now include the destruction of the University, who knows? Hard to show convincing interest in attending Harvard when you want to destroy Harvard. |
For tat least the last 25 years, Harvard has been a haven for professors and students with extreme leftist viewpoints and beliefs. |

DP. Not quite true. Most Harvard students feel quite uncomfortable expressing contrary political views. Especially true for moderate and conservative students. “ While 41 percent of liberal students reported feeling comfortable discussing controversial topics, only 25 percent of moderates and 17 percent of conservatives felt similarly.” Moreover, “ Slightly more than a quarter of the class of 2024 respondents said they only like to engage socially with people who share their political beliefs. Only 29 percent disagreed or strongly disagreed with that statement.” https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2025/2/10/survey-results-controversial-opinions/ |
And it graduated die hard conservatives every year as well that seemed to want to apply and attend along with any leftists that seemed to want to apply and attend. |
My party? Did you miss the part where I identified myself as an independent? Nice crazy person rant, though. |
First, note the past tense you used. That has been gone for a year. Second, a bunch of people on this thread are saying Harvard needs more diversity! The problem is that you have jumped onto Trump's bandwagon of claiming that diversity means something bad. Harvard's view was and is that a diversity of views and opinions strengthens scholarship. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/03/us/harvard-diversity-statements.html |
DP...yes, viewpoints of all stripes are welcome generally, but messages of hate, like a lot of the MAGAs currently espouse. Hate for gay people, hate for trans people, hate for black people, hate for Jews, etc is not welcome. |
So students at Harvard feel uncomfortable speaking up and saying they support the person and party that would like to basically end Harvard. Gee, who would have imagined that? |
dp. IF that’s true, then the same could be said about the vast majority of universities. |
I question your assumption that this is a new phenomenon. |
