Now I’m wondering if the CEO pulled a Germanwings Flight 9525.
He was facing lawsuits. He said the venture was not profitable. The industry had publicly spoken out against his operation and lack of commitment to safety. His comments in the media were odd and almost verging on suicidal/nonchalant about death and safety. What if he purposely ended things? No one would ever know. |
I was thinking the same thing but scared to say anything fearing my comment would be deleted. |

*MS Word clippy appears on screen in submarine*
“It appears you’re trapped in a submarine. Can I help you?* |
Have there been any interviews, comments, tweets from him? Curious what his reaction is... |
What is it with the comment deleting around here. Why are we not allowed to talk about this topic? None of these comments violate board policies! |
I have to believe that even if someone was thinking this way, they wouldn't choose to do it when a 19 year old was on board. |
| For those of you mentioning tomorrow afternoon as zero hour, it’s actually UK time so they’ll be dead by North American morning. |
A suicidal person may not be thinking rationally. |
What about the pilot of MH370? The prevailing theory is that he took a whole flight load of folks with him... |
This was the laugh I desperately needed tonight. Thanks!!! |
They are unquestionably already dead. At least we can take respite knowing that they died the way they lived: spending tons of money on stupid shit. |

If it was so obvious that this OceanGate trip was way riskier than similar subs have taken over the past few decades, why did Nargeolet get in? Was it because he's a Titanic junkie and this was likely to be the only sub going down there this year, and he just couldn't wait?
I just don't get why, if he's been down there so many times, he wouldn't see the apparently glaring flaws in the OceanGate sub. |
It seems like all of these people had a death wish. |
I don't remember that, but remember the Thai cave rescue of that soccer team? |
Poor people willingly take on risk too, are you kidding me? It's a human thing, not a rich people thing. |
