Can't wait to hear from the DeSantis-heads how akshully this is good for Florida (it's not) |
| That's my neighborhood - Lake Nona. People here are PISSED. |
| Nobody puts Mickey in the corner. |
How did your area vote in last year’s election? Unfortunately, DeSantis cult members will just be mad at Disney. |
It’s great, actually. Property values in posh ‘hoods will go down due to less competition from well qualified buyers. Local taxpayers will feel more “connected” to their government by having to pay a greater share of what it takes to keep government afloat. Wins all around! |
Well, Orlando went blue in general. Lake Nona is a fairly wealthy area with housing going through the roof. We only bought 5 years ago, for example, for $462,000 and our house is valued at around $800,000 right now. What initially drove the housing up was Disney coming. We were getting cold calls from real estate agents asking us we'd consider selling, offering $900,000+. But also, that area (pictured in the NYT piece) is still under development and the Disney campus was going to drive the rest of it being developed. This was just not good for our area. The only people who are saying it was great are saying things like "good, they can go back to California and stay there with all the other criminals and DeSantis will keep us free of woke Disney and the illegals." Not a lot of critical thinking happening there. It would have been great for our local economy. Period. |
You are hilariously misinformed. |
I think your sarcasm meter needs calibration. |
Heh I think they were joking |
DP but that is not far enough from actual GOP arguments to be clear sarcasm. |
