Christmas corporate party outfit

Anonymous
I know it’s early, but November will go fast.
I need to find an outfit/dress for a Christmas party at my spouse law firm.
Party will be in Seattle, so my understanding it will be less fancy than on the East Coast?
I am 5’5, 115 pounds, 43 y.o. Pretty fit, but don’t have great arms or legs. So no mini probably.

Omg OP don’t you dare wear sequins unless you want to be the laughing stock. I think you’re a little tall for the VV dress but the idea is good. Otherwise I’d look at halsbrook (their personal shoppers are good), Sara campbell or j McLaughlin. I always overthink things like this and then go and most people are in fairly simple sheath dresses, blazers, etc. What is the venue and time?

The event will be in a historic hotel and in the evening. I don’t know the exact time yet.
Their firm is pretty conservative but at the same time everyone is very relaxed. People wear hoodies and caps to the office. But I am not sure how dressy they get for holidays.

In that case go with a regular black suit with a velvet jacket or a red/green/gold sweater under the blazer. Don't really need to think about it that much.

I would want to know a couple of things:

- How formal people tend to get at this event
- What style vibe people go with (more conservative, more artistic, designer, etc)

Can you try to look at photos from previous years - or ask your husband to ask his female coworkers what they wear to this?

My impression of the style -very very conservative, very boring. No designer in sight.
I will ask for photos, that’s great idea.
I am thinking LBD will do just fine.
