PSAT disasters today--

Multiple schools in MCPS and elsewhere stopped the exam midway through due to IT issues with the College Board site.

They will likely re-administer but won't this completely compromise the integrity of the test? Some kids will have seen the vocab words, etc twice.

The test is digital now, and students today didn't see the same order of questions, and many didn't see the same 2nd part of the test. The students retaking the test will get another version.

Our school in APS was able to administer the complete test, just a little late. I don't think the re-take will be the same test. For example, for the AP test my kid had last year, not everyone had the same FRQ.

Our private ran the test with minimal issues. All kids took it.

Do you think there is only one version of the test?

Annoying AF and it’s not a good look for the college board, but the integrity of the test is not compromised. Still, not great.

Wouldn't this impact every kid taking the test if the issue was with College Board? My DCPS kid did not report any IT issues.

One of the primary reasons the College Board went digital/online was because of cheating. The whole point is to make sure the test isn't compromised.

My kid (MCPS) said the test stopped working on his Chromebook after he completed the English section. He's upset because he thinks he did well based on his practice tests and now will have to re-take it.

They have a question bank with different questions. Not a big deal.

I am told our MCPS high school had no issues

My daughter was in a room with last names A-F and the the test started at different times for each letter of the alphabet staggered by 10-15 min. The result was a very loud and distracting last hour as people were leaving at all different times. Definitely not ideal.

FCPS test started late but was completed.

Our private isn't administering it until Friday. Since the college board isn't concerned about students taking it later in the window learning about questions from students taking it earlier, there must be multiple versions.

Not sure about the PSAT, but you can’t take a digital SSAT on a chromebook—double check if that’s an accepted device.
