Dollars and cents

Let’s cut to the chase: how much do you spend on club swimming on a per practice basis, annually?

I’m interested because I feel like we getting ripped off, especially since the coaches aren’t exactly coaching the kids at meets and practice. Kids show up and do the sets and get very little stroke feedback. Swim at meets but gets zero coaching there.

I’ve worked it out and we are paying around 40 dollars per practice.

And go!

That is pretty typical about the coaching. You can look up on different clubs websites and some list the price.

I could look up different clubs but I would like to poll the dcum swim community.

We did PAC for 2 years. It’s definitely at the power price point. It was $105 per month for 2-3 times a week practice.
Now my 11yo is just doing stroke and turn because she’s gone off club swim but wants to stay in shape for summer swim.

Lower not power. ( above PP)

We do PAC too. It is now $135/month for kids 13y and older and those in levels 5/6. Kids can swim 3-6 days/week. My kid swim 3 days/week - so roughly $11/practice. We've done 3 different clubs and this one meets our price point/flexibility given he isn't a serious swimmer.

Without any estimating days off for meets and such (but did count two weeks off in spring, one of which includes a meet for those who travel) and our calendar actually starts two weeks earlier than what's listed with prices online, we are just under $100 per week for 45w of the year.

Just under $14 per practice at 7 swims per week.

We now live outside of the DMV so pay much less than we used to. Swim costs $154 per month. That's 5 practices per week that are 1 hour 45 minutes long for a 13 year old girl. No practice groups on any team in this area do more than 5 practices per week and early morning practices aren't a thing.

About $1200 per DC per winter season total, two different clubs. 2-3 practices per week.

I have a MS aged kid at NCAP and we are paying roughly $23 per practice (my kid swims 5-6 days a week). This doesn’t factor in the meet fees, which are usually somewhere in the neighborhood of $50 a meet, and my kid swims between 10-15 meets a year.

Do you mind sharing which location? Because we are with NCAP and pay much more for much less.

We were RMSC NTG and I felt it was very reasonably priced for the # of practices and the level of competition. Plus meet fees were included.
