Duggar son allegedly molested girls including sisters

The DUGGARs do not support child molestation.

Why do you claim that they do?

the answer is: you hate them and their values and their religion.

Which is unfair and mean.

For the hundredth time, no one is saying the Duggars are for child molestation. We are saying they handled it very poorly, and that it is hypocritical to do a robo call claiming trans people will molest your children when you have a child molester in your family that is not trans.

Hi Josh!

This is a lie. No one has said it was no big deal. Just because someone is supportive of how the Duggars handled this very difficult situation does not mean that they condone what happened.

This is a witch hunt.

OK, so you think the Duggar parents' response was appropriate? You don't think the abused children and Josh should have had counseling from licensed professionals?

I agree and I this is why I am supporting them. I have never made any assumptions that they enabling their son or blamed their daughters or that their religion is to blame. Their statement seemed heartfelt. I think they did the best they could in a very difficult situation. It is so upsetting to me that people are villifying them.

Can we have a just the facts thread with any new news links and a list of the sponsors?

Because these Duggar apologists are making me really sick to my stomach.

There has been a ton of evidence posted here about how the Duggars handled it and that the very "therapy" they used is based in victim blaming. The document was posted on this thread. Also of course their statement was heartfelt, a publicist wrote it. I worked in public relations - trust me TLC made sure they had the best to soften public sentiment, so less would blow back on the network

You think they did the best they could? You don't think they should have taken their children for professional therapy?

I'm guessing some of them might be TLC drones, trying to up support to continue milking their cash cow. There's no way any person with a modicum of ethics can continue supporting the Duggars, how they handled Josh's predatory abuse, and their crazy cult version of Christianity.

Please name one local licensed professional with a solid history of success.
Imo, most of them are failures.

Okay I am calling troll, because you can't be fucking serious.

I suggest people start reporting this guy/Josh because they aren't here to discuss, just to make inflammatory statements.

Re: professional counseling.

I work in social services. I am not impressed with professional "child counseling."

I think religious counseling can be just as effective, esp. for a religious family. This is why many people seek out the advice of their pastors and religious leaders, etc.

By the way, I am not religious, but I think a lot of psychology is bunk...We are all human. the Duggars got someone to talk to Josh. He had daily counseling in the form of his religion.

Again, how many ways are there to say to him: "Josh, this was wrong; it was harmful; don't do it again." he has learned this lesson over and over and over.

Why does he need a PHD person to give him this lesson? why not a pastor? Same Diff really and truly. and because he is religious and so is his family, the religious moral lesson will probably stick with him.

All you secular humanists are insistent that only secular counseling can be implemented.

that is wrong.

There are all sorts of a ways a person can get counseled and grow and learn.

You are right, I agree. I think a dude who produces child pornography is exactly the right person to counsel a child molester. I also think victims should be counseled to believe their were the blame.

You are lying about being in social services, but if you actually were you should lose your job.

Yes being counseled by the child pornographer surely taught Josh a thing or two, since he hid this for a decade!
