Malaysia Airlines Flight Goes Missing En Route to China

There was an employee from ZTE named Li Yanlin on board. ZTE is a super sketchy Chinese technology reseller who has been identified as a U.S. national security risk and continues selling high-level military technology to Iran. Maybe Yanlin was with the Iranian men and was brokering another technology deal with Iran. Perhaps stealing (or being given) information from the 20 Freescale Semiconductor employees on board. If the plane had landed, Iran and China would have top-secret and extremely threatening military technology. I don't think anyone wanted to extract information from the engineers, I think they wanted to prevent them from spreading it.

Interesting! Can you link to the article where u got this?

I've thought similar, pp. It in that case they didn't need the plane to land, right? Just take down all the employees.

Can we please stop slandering the (quite likely) dead? Let's leave that to the professionals, and avoid naming names on the list of dead passengers.

No PP. Go crawl back in your hole if you do not want to listen to speculation about what is probably the BIGGEST AVIATION MYSTERY EVER. If you haven't noticed, EVERYONE (including the media, who broadcasts to the WHOLE WORLD) is speculating about who the passengers, pilots and crew were/are. It's because a plane disappeared OUT OF THE AIR and normal people find that unusual and want to help solve this mystery.

Go ahead and speculate, but there's absolutely no need to name names and slander people.

Occam's. if you're going to try to sound erudite, at least get the correct reference. That wasn't a typo or a keystroke error -- you don't know what you're talking about.

And the answer is: Occam's Razor stipulates that it crashed in the ocean.

If the plane landed anywhere they could get a cell signal, wouldn't someone know? It seems unlikely that nearly 300 people would hand their cell phones over to hijackers. I don't think hijackers could go through 300 pockets, purses and bags to find them all and make sure they're off.

He explained how the plane could stay in the air for hours with no pilot or autopilot. When the wings would hit a certain pitch, the plane would turn, and then stay straight until the next time the plane bobbled too much. He also pointed out that if this was the work of an experienced pilot, they would know how to keep the plane relatively stable and not wobble over 20,000 feet. I still vote for explosive decompression and a plane so smart it didn't know how to crash.

It still makes more sense than the Hollywood movie conspiracy plots that are being thrown around now.

Oh I want to believe this too! I feel like any of the other alternatives are just just horrifying and cruel. Hope we're right!

After spending considerable time reading on two very active pilot forums, many of whom fly the 777 - I would say that none of the pilots think that this was a non deliberate act. They have also debunked the high altitude - depressurized cabin - death myth with a lot of technical jet engine language!

And yes I actually read a 400 page discussion thread on one of those forums about this situation. Really interesting to hear the discussion from an insider perspective although i can only understand about 30% of it due to all the technical language and shorthand codes they use.

Link please. With all this snow, I've got lots of time on my hands to read this.

FAA warned six months ago that Boeing jets similar to missing flight MH370 were vulnerable to mid-air break up
FAA had ordered airlines to fix possibly fatal flaw in Boeing 777s by this April
It said they must 'detect and correct cracking and corrosion in the fuselage’
Failure to fix the flaw could put the aircraft at risk of ‘a rapid decompression’
Malaysia defence minister today said the plane had been 'fully serviced' and all maintenance checks 'were in order'

So what did it say? Tell us. Link please -- pretty bored here with all this snow.

A document filed on the US Federal Register website indicates that aircraft manufacturer Boeing applied to have additional security installed aboard some of its 777 series of airplanes five months ago to prevent onboard hacking of critical computer systems.

Boeing said that it was upgrading the 777-200, 777-300 and 777-300ER series of passenger jet with a new onboard network system.

The concern was that the passenger inflight entertainment system would be connected to critical systems for managing the safety and maintenance of the aircraft.

Passenger seatback entertainment systems come with ethernet and USB ports, which would in theory enable access to a hacker to the critical computer systems.

Someone hacked it and fucked up. Guess the hacker was not a pilot or maybe it was one of those tech guy fucking around during the flight.
