Excellent return monologue. Really a class act.

He thanked those who supported him, and the right-wingers who defended his right to free speech. He repeated his condolences regarding Kirk - that he had posted the day he died, but which the right had conveniently forgotten.

And then he made fun of FCC chair Carr and Trump, and was back to his old self.

Very special show.

Yes it was. He was gracious in victory and there was no gloating. Trump should take a lesson.

I agree with you up to your last sentence. Trump will never learn anything. But the rest of us who are capable of learning should pay attention to Kimmel. He was very gracious tonight, and I admire him for that.

I loved that he included Guillermo in the opening too. Everyone really has been worried for that sweet guy.

6 days and millions of dollars worth of writers and he couldn’t generate one laugh in a 20 min set. Aside from this Trump nonsense, this guy is revolting, painfully unfunny, and this graft pit show has run its course.

I am glad that people supported bringing Jimmy Kimmel back on air.

I along w/some of my relatives had cancelled our Disney subscriptions last week in protest.
I doubt that is the reason that ABC brought him back but I am hopeful that others also cancelled their Disney subscriptions as well in protest.

It’s funny how Trump gloated about Kimmel losing his show - even as he was onstage on Sunday, speaking at Charlie Kirk’s memorial service - he still had to take a jab at Kimmel his “enemy”….telling the audience how he hated him.
He was there to mourn ➕ pay his respects to Charlie > instead he had to make his time there about him as well.

Oh well, hopefully everyone will just forget about last week, it was a clear hypocrisy on those advocating for freedom of speech.
Hopefully we all learned a little lesson on fairness for all.

I dunno, after first 1 minute ovation, there are plenty of people laughing throughout.

Sour grapes are sour.

Trumpers hate being fact checked.

Administrations put pressure on all manner of businesses. Did the Biden administration threaten, either explicitly or implicitly, to put Google and YouTube out of business? If so, post the threat. If the Biden administration did, in fact, actually threaten to put them out of business they should be held to account.

Thanks for posting the whole thing. Loved it. Gracious and direct, with a few good laughs. Spoken like a leader.

PP here. I'm a Harris voter and a Christian. I think Kimmel's comments were highly inappropriate after someone's death.

Face facts; this thread is indeed an echo chamber.

In what way, Harris voter? Please tell us what specifically you found inappropriate about what he said? The reality is that his comment had little to do with the person's death, and more to do with the circus surrounding that persons death. That you are more offended by someone pointing that out, that the actual circus being made, well, that says a lot of about you, Harris voter.
