But how do the "witnesses" know this? The guy was on a rooftop, he didn't say anything, and was dead seconds after firing his shot.

The only potential thing relating to possible motive was that he was apparently wearing a US flag patch upside down, similar to how Alito was flying a US flag upside down at his house. That's more a hallmark of far right extremists than it is of liberals.

Sure, and I get that, and I can totally see a potential shooter trying to give Trump a close shave to feed a narrative but again how would witnesses be able to see the patch on top of the roof?
