effective next week, which seems weird since school just started. is there more to the story? |
Sheesh. September is probably his birth month, and that is linked to retirement eligibility. Thst is the way FCPS has structured the pension distribution. |
That |
Ugh, so annoying. I am sure that’s just the retirement date that came up for her but couldn’t they have searched for someone earlier and had them start at the beginning of the year?? |
Good for her for being able to retire but super annoying that it is two weeks into the year and there is going to be an interim leader. |
Something up. Did Principal give two weeks notice? That can’t be the norm for a principal.
Any other fcps principals “retiring”? |
Dear Woodson Community,
In 1996, as an alumnus of FCPS, I embarked upon my professional journey as an instructional assistant right here at Woodson High School. Now, 27 years later, it is with a sense of closure that I announce my retirement from FCPS effective Wednesday, September 13, 2023. Reflecting on this time, I am deeply appreciative of the experiences I have gained within FCPS. I have been afforded the amazing opportunities to serve several communities across this great county as an instructional assistant, teacher, assistant principal, principal of a special education high school, and finally the thrilling opportunity to serve the Woodson community as your principal. Spanning these roles as a student, teacher, and leader, I have had the privilege of collaborating with exceptionally skilled colleagues. For that, I hold a profound sense of gratitude. Stepping into the role of principal at Woodson HS has been such a fulfilling chapter in my professional career. My affection for the Woodson community runs deep and from my first day here, I have cared about every student and made the academic, social, and emotional success of our students my top priority. Thus, this is a bittersweet good-bye, yet I know I will see many of you again. In the coming week, the Department of Human Resources and Ms. Rebecca Baenig, Region 5 Assistant Superintendent, will share the next steps in the process of selecting a new principal. I am confident that FCPS Leadership will thoughtfully appoint a new principal who will continue to foster a culture of respect and inclusion and maintain high academic standards for everyone. Fondly, Dr. Floyd |
This is weird. I say something is up. While eligible for retirement, if it was planned, they would have announced in the spring, had the search, and have the new principal ready to slide into the new spot. |
Maybe he's tired of all the FCPS BS....it's possible he got a job elsewhere making better money and not dealing with the craziness that is school. |
SHE is going to another county where she will make more. |
The principal is a woman. |
OK SORRY....I don't care if it's a she or he |
Seriously? Makes you wonder about the clowns on the School Board who voted themselves 50% raises but can’t find a way to retain staff. Vote them ALL out. |
ok ... which one of you ticked her off? |
Six years is a long time to be principal.
