I am 4’11 and 123 lbs.
I’m horrified. Most of it is in my trunk. |
I know the feeling. Honestly, you are so lucky to know this information. Take a moment to acknowledge that you have the resources and thought to get this scan. Put a plan together and chip away. This is your first data point. |
Wait how did you go and get one? |
I found a clinic that does them. |
Did you not know how big you were before the scan? |
So basically you have low muscle mass? Seems that’s an easy thing to work on. It’s fun building muscle and doesn’t take too much effort.
|
No. I look a little chubby, not obese! |
What’s your muscle mass %, PP? |
62.5. Lbs lean mass |
Girl, good news - you have plenty of ways to improve from here! |
There are several places in the DC area that do them for a fee. |
Visceral fat, the deadliest kind. You are an example of the many normal weight people who will likely develop metabolic disorder and NAFLD despite appearing on the surface to be fit and healthy. Conversely 20% of obese people are metabolically healthy and will live regular lifespans in relative health. It’s way more complex than fat bad slender good, calories in calories out. If you care about your health I highly recommend the books and videos of Dr. Robert Lustig. |
So you have a BMI of 25. That’s not too bad. |
Good thing you know OP. Time to move your diet toward nutritious Whole Foods and build some muscle. |
At 4’11 and 123 she definitely looks pudgy but not obese. I’m 5’1 and when I weighed 120 in college it looked terrible. Op should probably get down to 105-110. Which sounds low but again she is 4’11. |
