TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the suspension of State Attorney Monique Worrell of the 9th Judicial Circuit for neglecting her duty to faithfully prosecute crime in her jurisdiction. Worrell’s practices and policies have too often allowed violent criminals to escape the full consequences of their criminal conduct, thereby endangering the innocent civilians of Orange and Osceola counties. The Governor has the authority to suspend a state officer under Article IV, Section 7 of the Florida Constitution. The Governor has appointed former judge Andrew Bain to serve as State Attorney for the duration of the suspension. then the voters can hold her accountable, see what happened in SF. this guy has removed/suspended two elected prosecutors, both democrats. apparently rising crime is ok when the prosecutor is a republican. These are elected positions and voters should decide

It isn't the role of the governor to overturn the will of the voters because his state attorney isn't doing what he wants. This is something that separates us from banana republics run by tin-pot dictators. But apparently, neither DeSantis nor his defenders care. There's no depths they won't plumb as long as some libs somewhere are being owned.

He removed the Democrat who was elected and replaced her with her Federalist Society opponent who lost the election. I don’t give a shit what his executive order says. There was no due process. There was no independent, transparent investigation. All of that should be required to remove an elected official from office.

She’s also not the first Democratic attorney to be removed from office by him. Almost like he’s purging state offices. Weird. Sounds fascist when the word “purge” is used.
