What does this email from today mean? It's very vague.

The email was slightly better than Duran's, IMO. So I guess she's better at writing quick responses than he is.

You think she writes those? Lol

She thinks that the county is united behind her because the entire school board is a single party. I'm glad my kids are almost done with FCPS, education has ceased to be their priority.

Is FCPS going to fight the new models like they tried to fight Youngkin’s lifting of the mask mandates last year? PS - the new models say parents know best when it comes to their kids’ names and pronouns. I’m all for this.

OP, if you bothered to open the link in the first paragraph, you’d see she is responding to the scary policy assault on trans kids whereby the state is saying that school systems are bound to only call kids by their name listed on their registration form and to only use the pronouns he/him or she/her based on what sex is marked on the registration. Apparently this is the most important thing on the governor’s agenda.

It’s absolutely frightening. Virginia just took a big step closer to becoming Florida.

Teachers have to stay in their lane, oh the horror!

Scary policy? It's just correcting the previous policy that encouraged schools to lie to parents when students change their pronouns.

Common sense is frightening to some people?

Totally stupid email very one sided and has so mention of parents, what is wrong with these public school employees?

The email says:

We believe our current FCPS policies are consistent with federal and state anti-discrimination laws. We also believe that supporting our students and working with parents and caregivers are not mutually exclusive; we already do both and will continue to do so.

It mentions parents in a reasonable way, IMO.

That certainly is an intelligent response!
