Reducing 11s

Anonymous
I am not sure I want to go down the road of doing Botox. Does anything else help reduce 11s? Can I train myself to relax the muscle via meditation?

Botox. That’s it.

You could try frownies. I am a side sleeper which makes my 11s look worse in the morning, but the lines have disappeared since I started wearing frownies at night.

Why are you opposed to botox? And don't say because it's a toxin. Basically what I'm saying is - Botox or Dysport or Xeomin etc, are your only option. Don't waste your time and money on anything else.

Op here. No deep opposition, just hesitant for reasons of cost, hassle, and that I’ve gotten into my late 40s without doing it (and generally am happy with how I look) so not sure I shouldn’t just accept this as normal aging. I’m starting to consider it though…

I totally get this. I did Botox in my early 40's and then stopped for several years until age 49. I wish I had not stopped. I think cost is really the only issue for me. It's about $875 a session to do 11's, forehead, and crow's feet. My person recommends every 3-4 months, but I do every 6 months. There is absolutely no hassle other than a few restrictions on exercise, laying down, and wearing a hat on the day of.

I don't look frozen or weird. I'm still aging, just at a slightly reduced rate on my upper face.

so try everything else, then when you realize nothing else works and you've wasted all your money on those things you will end up doing botox anyways

Botox. Don’t even think about it. You will not regret it. It’s not that expensive. Just do the 11’s and brow area do not let them talk you into doing additional areas (eyes, chin blah blah). I do minimal units (20) and the affect is significant.

Best option and shockingly effective. The tech is beyond basic. You can probably make DIY frownies at home.

Botox and the like have gotten a lot less expensive in recent years. Download the ALLE app (makers of Botox) and they offer all kinds of incentives which reduces what you pay, you also earn points every time you go which further reduces what you pay. Example, last year I got 34 units of Xeomin @$9.00/unit $306.00 total. I used my Alle points for this which reduced my spend by $325. So spend up front, save on your next appt.

Do yourself a favor. Go to Elizabeth Tanzi. She is a literal miracle worker. Her Botox is so conservative and so natural and so effective.

Frownies don’t work. They’ll temporarily smooth out the wrinkles for a few hours during the day but they’re a PITA to put on every night. Save your money - start with 1 site of Botox at a med spa and do those 11s. You won’t regret it, I promise!
