What schools do you think will be in new region 6

Anonymous
Dr Reid announced a new region that michelle boyd will oversee. What schools could this new region have?
Anonymous
Region 2 is splitting, so any of those schools.

Why is there any need for another region? It just adds more bureaucrats to Gatehouse.

Wow, simply amazing, instead of reducing the number of regions and reducing the costs associated with layers of middle management FCPS chooses to add to the bureaucracy taking more funds away from the front line.

Is it any wonder that students and teachers are leaving FCPS.

The five regions used to be nine that roughly mimicked the magisterial districts. Garza did that change.

I am old enough to remember when it used to be 4 "areas" back in the 90s.

I think I missed this email.

If it's true Region 2 will be split, it seems likely that all the attacks on TJ would be the cause. The extra attention needed to address and manage TJ was overwhelming administrative resources meant to be shared with the five other pyramids of Region 2.

It's a cost-neutral move.

Region 2 has a lot of high needs Title 1 schools which is why they started there.

How so? Each region currently has its own Regional Superintendent and multiple Executive Principals, who in turn have administrative assistants. If the intent was not to add more senior Gatehouse employees, why bother splitting Region 2 up?

Not sure about that.

Putting aside TJ (or is that never allowed), Region 2 has 3 high poverty pyramids and 2 other low poverty but high growth pyramids. Those sets of pyramids face different challenges and have distinct needs.

The current pyramids in region 2 will be split. Probably by location.
