Fourth shooting at Andrew Adkins Public Housing (Braddock Road Metro - Alexandria). Of course the root cause is not enough BBQs. Maybe the police chief and city council will move the block party to the middle of the street. On the plus side, the townhouses on Madison across the street to this shooting gallery are a bargain. |

I honestly don't know how this situation can be fixed - the shootings at that public housing are not new. And it has nothing to do with the police - they already have 24/7 police surveillance on all sides. Violent men don't care.
The root cause is men who think that guns and violence are a way to solve all conflicts, whether via warning shots or shooting people. |
| Bring back the jump-out gangs. They were pretty successful back in the late 80’s and as a result, APD almost always got their man. |
The root cause is the people that live there. |
| Eh. it's public housing with marginalized people. It doesn't seem unexpected. |
Marginalized by whom? Victim or the predator? |
| Voters must like what they voted for, just like Baltimore. |
Our towns are going to hell.

| Public housing by design will fail because you are concentrating multigenerational poverty and trauma into one space. All public housing needs to be broken up so it never occupies more than 25% of any single multifamily development. And multiple properties need to be at least 3/4- 2 miles apart. |
| Why not try midnight basketball leagues? |
| Road diets are a far higher priority for the city than gun violence in substandard public housing. Didn’t ya’ll get Justin’s memo? |
You forgot gangs and drugs, debt to gangs for drugs, and gang territory for drugs. |
25% public housing in a building is going to destroy the value of the other 75% |
You think crime in public housing is new? |
Spreading it around just spreads it around. It won't fix or even dilute the root problem. |
