They have a very small girls program, and they don't have the staff to pull off CCL.
Really cool that a couple of teams are getting the opportunity to play in CCL this year, though NCSL D1 isn't bad, either.
Yeah, the PAC teams who are playing CCL - they were really worried about CCL being out of their league but they are doing fine and really enjoying the challenge and experience. I can’t imagine those two teams going back to NCSL next year - maybe EDP. It’s not great for them to play CCL as a guest team since it looks like (according to the rankings) that they aren’t playing this year.
don't expect LMVSC to be in CCL next year; they might, but please don't expect it. more players will leave from both the boys and girls. LMVSC will absolutely still have missing teams for other clubs to fill, but it's plausible they won't be in CCL.
I hope they rebound post-COVID.
The big difference between LMVSC and PAC is that PAC is where it wants to be. It's not designed to be a big club. The cozy atmosphere is actually one of its selling points. They can have all their U9s through U12s training at the same time, and the older kids can inspire the younger kids.
Maybe if they get some teams in EDP or filling in for LMVSC, they can keep more of the players who typically head off to Arlington or Braddock Road.
They're never going to be a monolith with four teams in each age group, but it'll be nice if they have a competitive Navy team (Gold for girls) in each most age groups and a decent White team, at least at the earlier ages.
