Why are you guys debating all of this here? Contact the tournament director now and discuss. They should be willing to make corrections like all other tournament directors do. If they do not, then do not enter their tournament.

If you sign up for ASIST, expect bracket shenanigans. The host club will sandbag like crazy. This is common knowledge lol

Someone was asking about McLean's U12 boys DA....Apparently, the Board agreed to terminate the program for next year based on the consensus of the technical staff.

Makes sense if they couldn't get expansion. Why invest that much and try to bring in top players only to have them leave after just one year? At least with the U12-U14 programs (Loud & Arl) they have 3 years with those players, and only a minority of them will make one of the full DAs after that time. Many of the rest will stay, which should make for some pretty competitive high-school aged teams for those clubs. Hard to see the upside for McLean.

Is McLean starting a boys U13 ECNL league next year to feed current U12 DA players into? Or will that take awhile? Hard to see those players going back to U13 CCL as Green players next year!

How strong is the McLean U12 DA? hard to picture the top talent going there knowing that there was no option for U13. Likely most were the U11 Green so the difference can't be that much.

Did they try to get an expansion to U13-U14?

I would think having Jaime Moreno as the coach would be a pretty big draw though.

They have tried repeatedly to expand ever since they lost their Full Boys D.A. several years ago. Throwing in the towel.

From the USDA perspective, perhaps it did not make much sense to have two teams (McLean and Arlington) so close.

Jaime Moreno's going to be the coach? Loveeeee. Let's hope he doesn't use Bolivian-style tactics LOL

Well this is very frustrating to be honest. MY DS will be trying out for U9 this spring with mclean being (was?) the preferred club. He is a good player but have no way if he will be a DA player. It just sucks that option wont be available. How many more times will mclean go for DA. Was hoping for a nice transition from mclean juniors to travel to DA by U12

Now will have to seriously consider Arlington...

It's pretty hard to forecast what the best option will be from year to year these days. Seems like every season for the past four there have been major changes to the landscape that cause people to re-evaluate each year. It sounds like MYS will have ECNL for boys (probably all ages) to replace that one year DA program.

McLean's rosters are GIGANTIC. That is a much bigger problem then no DA anymore for.one year at U12. Ask any parent on any team.
